I LOVE celebrating the 12 days of Christmas, because for me, the Christmas spirit usually doesn't hit until Christmas Eve - and then, BAM, it over! But last year we started living the decorations up into January and I feel this is more the way it should be...it bugs me how stores try to push Christmas on us the moment Halloween is over and Valentines the day after Christmas. Let's just enjoy the season!

What a wonderful husband. And you’re such a bright light! Had to stop and watching because I had a moment where I realized the last time I got a gift for Christmas was when I was a kid still living with my parents. My 3 year old pointed out last year, where is mommy’s present, why is mommy’s stocking empty, I didn’t even think about it too deep until I started watching this and it definitely brought a tear to my eye 💖 what a beautiful life and love you have! I read a book compiled of Louisa May Alcott’s journals. It’s a real eye opener. They lived two places in Concord. In between , the father moved them to Harvard and tried to create a utopia. It failed. Another interesting tidbit I noticed was that they were friends with all the authors, including Thoreau. When we were sure Thoreau was roughing it at Walden Pond in that tiny cabin…..he wasn’t . He walked often to the Walcott house for meals and company!

In Sweden we have Christmas from the 24th of December until the 13th of January (Saint Knut's Day) a tradition we have had at least since the 17th century. Later in history (from the 19th century) this day has been a day when children go visiting each other and help each other to "throw out Christmas" by taking decorations from the tree down and actually carrying the tree out from the house, play certain games, dance, sing special songs and are given candy at each house.
