We have five boys in their 20's. No one gets us gifts. That seems to be the norm with all my friends' adult kids, too. We're thankful they come home and share their time with us. That's the best gift. Happy new year, everyone.

Our family have used Elfster for years especially after my kids were grown and working. It’s a secret Santa app my brother subscribed to. You list your family members as participants. You set a dollar amount which is agreed upon by your family. On thanksgiving my brother gets it started. You receive an alert via email which tells you who you have to purchase a gift for the exchange on Christmas Day. You list gift preferences on your wishlist with size, color, brand etc…. You can also list links with your gift ideas. We place our nicely wrapped gifts under the tree where we’re having Christmas dinner. After dinner the host gives their gift and we watch the opening of the gift. Then that person gives their gift. So on and so on….. We love using Elfster.

We got my parents the digital photo frame. They are together in a nursing home. They loved it!! We were all over there on Christmas Eve. I had preloaded some photos already, but as we took pictures of our time together that day, we uploaded them immediately. They were over the moon happy. Now our entire family has been sending them photos almost daily, and they are hitting the love button. What a fantastic gift. My mother used to be on Facebook, however, due to dementia she can no longer remember how to log in. This is perfect, she doesn't have to do a thing but look at all the photos, and it helps her memory stay active. My parents talk about the photos that pop up, and it is great for their relationship and ours with them. Thank you so much!!

Gosh, I actually got tears in my eyes. I so love a traditional holiday season with family, friends, good food and animals. I wish everyone could have one like you did. I think the world would be a happier place. Gifts aren't everything, but I absolutely always think your gifts and gift suggestions are the BEST. Welcome back!! So nice to catch up with you and see your wonderful gifts this morning! Yes, practicality is the way to go in our house too! I need that pepper grinder…my hands start to hurt lately when I’m twisting my current pepper mill. I hope you enjoy “The Nightingale”….it is one of my all time favorite books! I had gotten it from the library and after reading it I decided to buy the actual book, just to have forever. I’m going to check out the roll on scent the next time I’m at Ulta. Like you, I also like the muskier smells…no florals or vanilla for me. Our kids were home for a week and it was so much fun! They all made it back safely to Wisconsin yesterday. I knew it would take them about 6 hours, so I started cleaning and doing laundry to keep myself busy until I knew they were back home. So now I have a clean house to start the New Year! Have a relaxing New Year’s Eve and I hope 2025 is you and your family’s (or is it families?) best yet! 🎉

I'm happy you had a great Christmas and hoping you have a great New Year, too. I'll be parked in front of the TV watching the Tournament of Roses parade. I love to watch that! I'm going to get myself the new Arctic tumbler. I've got one I like, but I need second for when the other one is in the dishwasher. And you will absolutely love "The Nightengale". Kristin Hannah is one of my favorite authors. If you enjoy "The Nightengale", I highly recommend "The Winter Garden". Both are just fantastic. I got my husband reading both of those books and he just raved about them. Her most recent is "The Women", which is great, but will make you so mad in some places!! I gave the digital photo frame to my brother and sister-in-law for Christmas (I was surprised at how affordable it is) and they loved it. My sister-in-law (the official family photographer and photo keeper upper) was just gaga over it. So it was a huge hit in my family, as well.

Oooooo...tip when you're bathing the dogs...wash their neck and head last...water on those areas make them want to shake. When I bath my dog I do his head and neck last and he rarely shakes.
