My son is turning one at the end of this month and we also bought him a car seat. We also got him a little ball pit that I found for $14. Other then cake/food and decorations for his birthday party, we didn’t get him anything else. We are going to do some fun things with him on a staycation the week before.

Those little farm animals are too cute! I've not seen those, but would be a great idea!!! Sweet n Swag moccs are the best (Gunnar has been wearing them since he was an infant) and the little girl ones are so sweet!

I think practical gifts are the way to go for first birthdays. I don’t yet have a baby (still 1st trimester) but I firmly believe that holidays and birthdays are great for practical gifts up until age 3. With a few more “fun” gifts tossed in for both 2nd and 3rd year’s. In my house we both work, we have to. So cost effectiveness and practicality are king in our household.

Fantastic vid! My little guy is turning one in August so this was super helpful. Another tip I got was buy 'experiences' so I may opt for a local zoo membership. May also look into Mommy & Me swim classes.

My kids LOVE those walker toys! They all started walking independently within about 1-2 weeks of getting the hang of using the walker (including #4, who kind of broke my heart when he grew up way too fast and walked at 9.5 months 😩). I predict Hailey will be walking in a couple weeks! 😊 Also, what nail polish remover do you use for her or do you just let it grow out over time? We use Piggy Paint but it chips off so fast that no remover is needed LOL.

great video! My second daughters first birthday is next month and she will get a bike helmet so I can take both of them with me. I am so looking forward to be able to bike with them instead of driving with the car or walking ( which sometimes takes forever with my three year old...) We like practical gifts :)

My son has a Uppababy Mesa car seat and it’s limit is 35”. Which is great because he’s 8 months old and already 30”! He’ll definitely need to get a new car seat soon, probably before his 1st birthday

This may be late, but you should try Stride Rite shoes. I have VERY narrow feet/heels, and super skinny ankles. Stride Rite shoes were the only shoes that stayed on my feet when I was little. My mom swore by them.

Things my son got for his 1st birthday - fisher price car track with cars, fisher price little people Farm, books, clothes, Melissa and Doug cars that come apart, duplo LEGO sets, and a handmade quiet book by my sister in law. I know that’s a lot of stuff but I’m from a family of 7 and he’s the only grand baby on both sides so ya. 😬🙈

Love your videos and how You try to use natural remedies before unneccesary medicine, Good Good and so on. BUT, extreamly dissapointed with all the plastic for the kids 😟 Do You know that the most toxic room in the house is usualy the kids room due to all the plastic? There is a lot of wood och metal/wood toys to choose from these days and also cups and plates and so on. Here in baltic country's the children are rear facing until 4 years old

Linda Englund Sorry to disappoint you. We have a mixture of plastic, silicone as well as wooden toys and I make sure our plastic cups are BPA free. I know it's not the strictest standard but it's the one I've chosen as their mother. If my children were small enough before four to be rear facing I'd keep them that way. They were brought to the absolute legal limit. Any longer and it would be unlawful for me to keep them rear facing. 🙂 I'm sure you LOVE living in the Baltic! Such a pretty place and I hear that it has such kind and gracious people there!
