I remember when polly pockets were little like that and when they were bigger. They were a couple of inches tall and had rubber clothes. I liked them better than barbies but I was also like a young teenager playing with them then.

@@pinkafterblue they really are! I've been getting gift ideas from you for years. My son Derek really enjoys watching your videos too. He asks me all the time if we can drive to wherever you guys live and have a play date lol! I really don't want be a downer so I'll spare you the details but unfortunately this year Derek is only getting about $30 worth of gifts which is sooo hard for me because I'm so used to spoiling my boy (I'm a single mom and hes my only child so I like to go all out for him). I've been spending a lot of time trying to explain to him the true meaning of the season to try softening the blow for the lack of gifts from santa and myself on Christmas morning but gosh I'm sure dreading Christmas morning this year. I had an entire Amazon cart full of gifts ideas for him that I had been adding to all year (including some ideas from your christmas gift guide last year!) But unfortunately I lost my pre-K teaching job at the absolute worst possible time. You better believe I will be referring back to this video come next year though! Thanks again for sharing. I have a 2.5 year old and this year i tried to get toys we had space for and open ended toys that he will love. But there also some monster trucks in there too lol. Love all the gifts you got your kids. They do really seem like great kids. And dont listen to any negativity you do what you wanna do momma god gave you those kids to raise nobody else. Don’t compare yourself to other moms! It makes me sad sometimes that I can’t spend more money but we did $100 each on our two kids and they ended up with a ton each since we got more inexpensive items. Your kids will be more appreciative with a smaller amount

I’m 48 but envious of your daughter’s Polly Pocket toys.... I grew up in the 70’s and 80’s - such a boring time...lol.. my teen son has been playing Call of Duty for years and he is a polite, charming kid... he mostly plays with his best friend.... but he didn’t have access to the internet until he was 12 yo... so before that I was his playmate on his Xbox360 - I have to say I got pretty good at the COD games... it was fun... one of the things about having an only child - I spent a lot of time with him every day... He wasn’t supposed to be an only child....but things happen... I also wasn’t supposed to be a SAHM, but I ended up loving it! My son is still a teen but practically grown up... thanks for sharing! Teens/preteens are tough to shop for...

I have the same 3 boys, then a girl, then a boy- just a few years ahead of you :) that game room is going to be amazing! We got our oldest boys wallets last year- the trifold velcro kind- and they have loved having them. We also got my 13 yer old his own nail cutting kit and he feels so grown up using it!

Maybe for the game room make it in to a scavenger hunt, and have them go around the house to find clues and have it lead to the game room. Then it gives them something to do, and makes it feel like they are opening more, especially if you wrap the clues. I have done this for people and it’s always so much fun to watch, and becomes a spectator sport.

Maybe try and cover that door with wrapping paper and close the blinds/curtains, and have them run through the wrapping paper. I’m not the greatest at this stuff, but I have kind of random ideas.

When it comes to console games for kids it can be tricky. It all depends on the kid. When my younger bro was around 10 and I was 15 we used to play my big brothers grand theft auto games for the PlayStation. They were rated 18+ yet it didn’t do us any harm. Our parents weren’t thrilled we played them but they couldn’t really stop us. We turned out fine. So I think every parent needs to decide on their own of their kids can handle older games or not.
