You are very knowledgeable about mechanical stuff and tools. I found this during a search for inch pounds on T10 screw for EO Tech EFLX. I really like vapor cleaning video.

I have these on a '72 Bolens HT 20 transaxle. Same dilemma. It seems a 10mm 12 point box-rnd wrence is a close as I can get. All my 10mm sockets are 6 point.

I think what you are looking for is a 7/16 8 point socket. I have only been able to find them with the big companies. Proto, Williams, Snap On calls there's a double square part #F314. Hope this helps.

I have the same bolts on my Mercedes-Benz, for the rear axle. They are actually size E15, but you can't buy any socket for it. The company that sold me new rear axles have an instruction video on how to replace the rear axle on my mercedes, and they call it E15. But even they they don't sell the sockets E15, go figure. I guess they are protected by the manufacturers. Ages ago Citroën used metric M7 bolts and nuts, so you could only get spare parts at the dealer. This is the same with these bolts: only the professional service providers have the wright tools. However, you can use a E14 or a E16 socket, it works if the bolt is not to tight. But it can damage the bolts. Hope this is helpfull.

I was thinking it was a proprietary manufacturer tool unavailable to the public, but you would think Snap-On or one of the tool manufacturers would make a knock-off.
