Hi! I'm a complete beginner in cybersecurity and I'm interested in taking the OSCP course. I have no prior experience or knowledge in the field. Can anyone please advise me on where to start? What should I learn first? What resources do I need to get started? I'd really appreciate any guidance or advice you can offer. Specifically: - What are the prerequisites for the OSCP course? - What topics should I focus on learning first? - Are there any recommended resources (books, videos, courses) for a beginner like me? - What's the best way to get hands-on practice and experience?

Just a note on autorecon. I hated the amount of output it gave me aswell until I watched tiberius use it in conjunction with atom. I personally use sublime text to view the outputs in a heirachic view. Now I really appreciate how good it is. Definitely worth a re look 👍
@tadii2 жыл бұрын
thanks for pointing that out, i'll take a loot at it again
@Tib3rius Жыл бұрын
It's also worth noting that with the plugin and tagging system in v2, you can easily turn individual checks off if you don't like them. You can even create your own plugin directory from scratch so AutoRecon does exactly what you would normally do. It's basically a framework to automate your own enumeration without you having to really write much code (for most plugins you can just copy / paste from the defaults and change the triggers and command, etc.) Anyway, great video Tadi, glad I came across it. :)

I have an idea ... look at the syllabus ... find free stuff on each part of syllabus and learn it. U can also find labs way cheaper ... and just pay for taking cert test.

@tadii Жыл бұрын
if you request to download the material you get to keep it. when you do request to download via the portal you'll have a couple of days to download it otherwise you'd then have to contact support or something.

What do you recommend to a noob who had 0 experience and knowledge Should i go with pnpt or ejpt?
@tadii2 жыл бұрын
If you have the money, I would start with eJPT then go for PNPT or eCPPT, but if not I'd say go through the PTS course for the eJPT just for the knowledge then go for the PNPT
@iakashx2 жыл бұрын
I have eJPT. I didn't find it really useful for OSCP or for finding a job. I have taken course of PNPT but I didn't took the exam. PNPT taught me lot of thigs which actually helped me in OSCP. I recommend doing PNPT and save money and earn values (:
@mihisharanatunga25912 жыл бұрын
@@iakashx thanks alot brother! Do you think I would be able to pass the pnpt by doing their coursework without passing the ejpt?
@iakashx2 жыл бұрын
@@mihisharanatunga2591 Yes. I totally belive that. Even PNPT offers you one free exam retake and a hint for your next exam attempt. So many folks have passed their PNPT in their 1st attempt. So go for it.

@@jaywandery9269 hey! I'm getting there. First cert from scratch was CompTIA Security+, then CompTIA CySA+, and now I'm studying the TCM PNPT one. I believe after this one and with a lot of boxes from vulnhub and hack the box should be fine! I want to have a solid base even before paying to study this cert! 👌

$16.66 everyday for 90 days doesn't sound like a lot, but it sure sounds like it hurts upfront. Especially sense you only get 90 days to learn as much as you can. Wish you could keep the stuff

Tady, thank you for all the information you are very helpful! I am a female in her 30s, a mother and a DJ. Yep! I am extremely interested in Cyber Security and I really wish to become a Pen tester or a Red teamer in the future. I don't know where to start though, what certificate to try and get first... I am so confused. I am not even sure what laptop to buy, as I want something very secure. I don't have lots of time study per day... But I do try and find some time to study some days of the week, even when the kids are running around me. How I do it? I try to stay focused no matter the distraction my children create. I really wish to succeed! And I won't give up... Can I ask you to be my mentor? Would you wish to? Or is it not appropriate to ask a question like this?
