I've always had a broad range of interests, and not all of them are in the artistic realm, so I always feel like I'm being pulled in a dozen different directions at once. Comics are something I've been wanting to get back into as I used to draw silly little stick-man comics back in grade school. Nothing substantial, of course, and I'd want to step things up with a more Manga-inspired art style, but my main issue now... I am a terrible writer. If I had a writer to illustrate for, however, that'd be perfect! Wish me luck, y'all!

@curious_mitch I hear you, having a variety of interests can feel suffocating sometimes. Working with a writer would be a good idea, and perhaps it can help you to build up to it yourself some day (if that's what you want). Good luck with whatever you choose to do 👍

You found me Sevoran! xD Yes, decision paralysis is intense and I wouldn't wish it on anyone. It's okay to take a break from something and explore your interests. I also burnt out on art, but I think the break helped me figure out my next steps. You got this! :3 (Also thank you lol)

I was working on a 4 page 18 panels manga story but got overwhelmed cause after the Storyboarding I realize I was doing difficult compositions that I didn’t have the skill for. So I decided to condense the story to 1 page 4 panels as it is my first time ever doing this as a 1 year self taught artist. I was doing all traditional and there were times I wish I digital and resize it but had to erase it and draw the character again. Lmao.
@aeryma

Nooo Dx I'm sorry you had to redo it Digital has its perks, but I think the experience and lessons you get from working in traditional are priceless. I wish I did it sometimes, but it definitely does take much longer One of my favourite mangakas still works traditionally. I honestly love the rawness of it. Digital is great, but you can tell it's digital sometimes hehe Goodluck! Your hard work will pay-off in the end c:

This was great, I get stuck in perfection paralysis at times, so this breather reminded me to looses up a bit. Been working learning 3d for my backgrounds and being a bit overly meticulous. Sometimes simpler is better.

Haha, I getcha. My brains the same x-x. What helped me was to make a list of what was most important, and get rid of non-essentials. Idk if that helps. As for Manga, if you have the time and passion, just go for it :3. Also, thank you!

@@aeryma thanks for the tip! (though tbh everything is equally as essential lol) but i do think it would be useful for the medium im already trying to learn, which is 3d animation/model making! it would be fun to make a manga out of 3d pictures and/or gifs, your video gave me the idea bc i don't normally read manga lol.

I use ctrl+shift over the canvas because I lost layers every time T - T. My favorite CSP shortcut ever, I hope the advice is useful. (Don't mess up with organization just because of this haha)
@aeryma
@aeryma 5 күн бұрын
Thank you!! I've literally been using the select tool for this, but ctrl+shift is so much easier! That said, things like shadows/etc can block a lot of the layers below, so I still recommend organising them hehe
@camiladaianajutco5035
@camiladaianajutco5035 4 күн бұрын
@@aeryma Yes, organising still important. Fortunately CSP allows you to highlight layers and folders with colors. Also, about this "Select Layer" function I mentioned as a shortcut. It can be found inside the Operation tool as a sub-tool. There you can select to exclude draft, text, locked and fill layers. Thanks for your answer! I feel noticed haha

@@aeryma It's a reference to a series "Raw Hero" by Akira Hiramoto, it's just a bit obscure and out there, sorry. In it when mangaka character presents her school romance manga to a publisher, she gets asked why it's called "Dear Daddy" when there's no such character. She answers "because it sounded cool". I guess there's a lesson to learn from this! maybe not... Oh, and it's indeed not wholesome, if "Prison School" rings any bells, same author.

How do you come up with story ideas?
@aeryma
@aeryma 2 ай бұрын
I answered on your other comment, but for me what helps the most is consuming more stories from different media. Manga, Webcomics, Games, etc. Then I think about my interests, what genres I like, character personalities, etc. I try to think about how to combine the key elements of what I enjoy and fuse them together somehow- into a story I'd actually like to read myself Ideas also just sometimes come out of nowhere- I think it just depends on the person. I'm far from an expert, but I'd suggest looking on KZbin for some tips from Writers if you continue having trouble Stories are tough though, dw if it doesn't come naturally. It is something we develop over time, and we may need to get through some bad story ideas to find the good ones
