I got in ED this year but unfortunately, financial aid told me they will not review my award based on my mother only (even though I live full time with her) and are factoring my fathers income into my aid package. I tried to explain that he is not involved in my life or financially contributing, but they won’t budge. I had to break my contract and I’m not attending :/

I am really enjoying your videos. GWU is one of the few schools I am looking into to pursue a Ph.D. I am also looking at Georgetown and Howard. I am trying to find a job and relocate to the DMV area. I only applied to American and Georgetown but I love your vids!! Would you say that the money is worth it to go to school in DC? I’ll most likely be deciding between Ohio State and American U.

I'd say if you're looking to get a lot of work experience while in college then invest in DC because a lot of people get good internships around here but, if not, you should be fine going elsewhere! Hope that helps!!

Sophie Yates I’m born and raised in Washington, D.C. This may sound biased but DC is a really great city for finding connections while in college, in my opinion. I’ve applied to Georgetown, GW, and American. Wish me luck!

If it wasn’t your rating on your personality that made your application, what would you say was the determining factor? How’s the “grit score” calculated and where did you lie on it? Also, what did you mean abt the racial biases being considered/ removed? I love your vids! thanks!!

Based on what I found, I’d say that it was my academic preparedness, but then again, I’ll never know for sure because of the purged info. What I meant by the bias thing is that they often course correct for biases in race and the other things after their initial run through. They also go through training to help avoid these biases themselves. Hope this was helpful 🧡

I had my mind set on GW since i visited there last summer and wanted a school in DC so i applied to GW ED and It was a reach school for me and I was shocked to see I was actually admitted. As everyone knows GW is extremely expensive and sadly they gave me no scholarship money and very little financial aid and i would have still ended up paying 70k each year. GW has been my dream school bc I want to study poly sci and the location is impossible to beat. in the end i had to deny attending GW so I was wondering if It is worth reapplying next year and transferring from the school i choose for my freshman year?

Seriously? What are you 12? Dream school? Dude if you have to take out loans up to 70k per year to go to your dream school, then it definitely isn't realistic. Jesus, man. Get a grip. Just because a student goes to a private university doesn't make them any better or more suited for the real world vs. a student go to a in-state public school. Source: I am a in-state public college student and have many opportunities.
