i think it’s almost impossible for gay men to be pop stars since i think the idea of a male pop star relies on desirability, specifically for female audiences. like harry styles and justin bieber. i imagine that’s why even though harry styles has come out as “unlabeled” he still uses women for his music videos and only writes songs about women. omar, conan, and troye sivan (who i think should be talked about more given his recent breakout) never had a chance because gay men aren’t as desirable as straight men to women, for obvious reasons.

We are also called the "sandwich generation" by economic theory. We are taking care of our Boomer parents who are in thier late 70s and in their 80s. Yes, our boomer parents have money, but they need our attention. We have to take them to their doctors and how to use the computer every time we visit. Now we have them living with us. Then we have our kids, the generation millenials which have had a hard time, but unlike us, they think they are owed something. We have to now pay for their phones, education, and they are living with us. It's a lot of pressure when taking care of two generations. Then Millenials and Z blame us for everything that is going wrong. Hey, we learned how to take care of ourselves. Our kids just complain while we pay for their lives until the late 20s.

I also think that this need to reinvent yourself year by year can have a significant impact on the quality of your music cause this can hinder you from finding and perfecting your own style
