As someone who went through 4 years of a BAA Animation degree and doing 3D modelling post for a masters (and now works in film), you gained 70% of the same skill set as a crossover animators would, you draw extremely well as your program had a GREAT base for getting non-artists up to snuff. By end of term 1 you were drawing on a high level for design & technical so don't think you're a bad artist by any means as your final renders are professional grade and could pass in the tv/film industry. Great video, home to watch a few more down the road.

It's 2023 and I'm a mechanical engineer and I've never stopped applying his philosophies like your perspective coursework. It takes A LOT of unpaid time/labor to master your software, but It will all pay off once you start working on your own projects!

Thank you for this video it was very inspiring, I used to watch FZD design cinema back when I was in college. I wish I had the chance to go there, so seeing this was very cathartic. I was wondering for the next videos could you also include a section where you mention the deadlines? If you could breakdown the time management system you used and the time allowed for every assignment, that would be amazing. Really liked your video and your personality you display through the editing, thank again.

Thank you for sharing this. The FZD videos are amazing but they are a bit intimidating and overwhelming with how much content is packed in them. It's hard to determine where to start to develop skills to get to that level. Your video reveals that process. Wow! I loved how well you broke the subjects down! I’d love to see all the execercises in detail, but I’m probably the minority of the audience. You did break it down enough so that one could understand what was studied in each of the subject. Thank you so much! I can’t wait for the next two videos, and I also need to catch up with the videos over at C.I.A.

@@niatora Do you know through Kingston what is going on with the school? Apparently it isn't accepting new students.

Loved your creativity. especially in the Floating Seafood, the way the crabs are positioned because they walk sideways, just genius. Have you seen all this in 13 weeks? I've never even seen so much of perspective in over a year, I don't even know how to make those mirrored letters, nor how to find the light source to create the shadow in perspective. Did the classes last all day? It seems that the teachers just told you to do the tasks, without much explanation. 😂 Anyway, I loved the video, I'm subscribed from now on.👍

This is a ton of work, but I definitely wish I got an experience like this. I'm going thru art school right now (I'm a senior) and my school's curriculum is so unfocused and broad that I feel I wasted my time here. I still learned a lot but I feel like I'm gonna be playing catch up the next few years. Thanks for breaking down your curriculum!

@@niatora I'm feeling more confident about where I am now, I gotta thank you again for breaking down the curriculum at FZD, I'm the president of our school's concept design club and having this material has helped us a lot in coming up with exercises and material to tackle during meetings :)

@@niatora you're completely right ^^ I'm incredibly lucky to get the education I do have, so I think I need to worry less about having "wasted" time and focus more on how I can grow in the coming years. Besides my frustrations I don't regret coming to this school, as even with its' drawbacks I've had an amazing and unforgettable time.
