Hej ludzie!:) I decided to go hang out in old town, see the sights! ✨✨✨ thought I'd also share some of what I like, and some reasons why I find myself enjoying Poland. not here to say that everyone neeeds to move to Warsaw, but wanted to try some downtown vlogging and speak on some of the differences I've found...attractive points for living in Warsaw over the U.S. - (by no means a complete list :D)

When I was studying, 20 years ago, I had a student loan for two years, I paid it back in four years of work after graduation. It was an interest-free loan from what I remember. It is also available now, but perhaps a few percent of students use it. To receive it, you cannot exceed the income threshold per person in the family, i.e. PLN 3,000.
@rhalfik
@rhalfik 2 жыл бұрын
@@DonegansGone Yup. I remember that too from 10 years ago. One of our professors advertised it as the best motivator to study... But this loan was not supposed to be spent on your (free) tuition, but rather on dormitory, which was $100/month. Then you had a couple of years to find a job or repeat a year. It was feasible for most professions. For an engineering degree it was a no-brainer at least in my city.

I never planned on settling in Poland/Germany but it happened and I'm so glad it did. Things are generally better for most people compared to the USA. There's still a lot to do, especially in Eastern Poland, but things are moving in the right direction. On the flip side -- for Poland -- wait three days (November 11th) and you'll see several ten thousand reasons in the streets for why not to stay (and they very much don't want you to stay). Stay safe.

About loans. It's just that Poland haven't been a very stable country for a long, long time and people learned the hard way that they can ALWAYS lose a job and even be unemployed for a while and unable to do anything about it. That's how life used to be for MOST of the Poles. The situation is a lot better nowadays of course but old habits die hard. In Poland it's heavily frowned upon to get a loan and then be unable to pay it. This is why the Poles in general take a loan mostly when they have absolutely no other choice, they can't buy something any other way and they REALLY need it or something like that. We, the Poles, aren't happy, smiling, optimistic people. Not at all. We ALWAYS see things in dark colors. We ALWAYS predict trouble before the trouble strike us. This is why we tend to be prepared and not burdened by loans and things like that. Life in Poland taught us that you can NEVER EVER be too sure and you can't count on things going well, you have to be prepared and assume the worst while hoping for the best. So yeah, when end of the world happens, make sure a Pole is with you. 'Cause I don't think he'll be surprised.😎

I liked the video and idk its just nice too see your face(idk ur face is just simply pretty xD?) but alot of things which u ve mentioned are not really nice for a native polish person. I have a huge comparasion cause i was living in different country too and living in Poland is terrible experience in many aspects i think the pros and cons are kinda balanced when we will want to compare them with other EU countries. Poland is really beautiful country and really safe, but most of ppl here are wasting their lifes. Poland is really strong IT country so if anybody is looking for a good IT-related country Poland is really great place. I was living in a London for long enough to have comparasion and even tho ppl say that London is pretty expensive i dont really think so, living in UK is much cheaper for the normal daily needs. Living in Poland with minimal wage is incredibly hard, meanwhile in uk its not that hard also ppl in UK were much nicer to me and more helpful than ppl in my own country which is Poland... I think alot of foreigners are having different experience with Poland which are not totally fully correct in the long term. Having own business or something in Poland like company etc is incredibly hard, theres tons of paper work meanwhile in USA its much simpler because in Poland u have to move to 523252 places with the same paper and its taking alot of time meanwhile in USA leading ur own business/company is much easier in the term of paper work etc I do know how it is in USA since i have a family there + alot of Polish celebrities and known ppl from Poland are havig business in USA and Poland and theyre saying the same what i do and what i have heard from my close family/mates and friends. I would like to mention that in UK ppl are much more respectful in the term of being "different", theyre more respectful to trans/homo ppl and any different looking ppl, they dont look at you like ure something "weird" in Poland most of eyes will stare at you like youre an alien or sum lmao. Altho im glad that ure enjoying Poland so far, but trust me its not really so great place to live in xD

Lovely vlog. You can definitely make decent money in Warsaw teaching English - you'd be sought after for your accent (recognisably American but also clear and distinctive, although you might have to slow it down a tad at times, so that your learners would follow). Poland is one of the best destinations in Europe to teach English.

Kewl videos, also polish, like your uncut style of vlogging. Did you have to get vaccinated to travel to Poland?

Hahaha thank you. And while you don’t need to get vaccinated - generally when traveling to and from (though out this year , most recently this weekend 😂) I’ve needed to show either. A. Proof of full vaccination. Or B. A negative test. If you don’t have either of those, then you’ll likely be told upon landing to do a mandatory quarantine. (There are sanitary control officers right after you get off the plane to check on this)

I'm interested in Poland for various reasons and I'm glad you like it there and though I don't know much about you , I think that could be good influence on you. Poland has a lot to offer.. their faith for one thing which in US many people unfortunately ( though not all ) and much of Western Europe isn't much appreciated . The US yes a good number of people will appreciate that. Their Catholic faith got them thru historically tough times with Nazism and then communism. Many can learn from them.

I don't know how this was recommended to me, but it was interesting to watch a foreigner talk about my home city. Obviously, you've barely scratched the surface of things that are worth/not worth of moving to Poland (and Warsaw specifically), but as a native Pole, I've emmigrated from Warsaw almost 10 years ago and I''m glad I did. I guess the grass is always greener on the other side! I'm glad you enjoy Warsaw! 😂

My english is to weak for conversation with you, but I will try anyway :P in Poland we have student loans but we are a completely different society. We are more family (i can't find proper word in my head and in translator too) than Americans are. Mainly family helps financially in other otherwise people prefer work than study. From my observations a lot of my friends spend parents money for have fun in different city while they studing. In Poland we have big social system (in my opinion to big), according my information (uncle in US army about 15years) America dont give a shit with weak units so only strong can survive and function properly.
