Dip your elbow in. If it’s right for elbow it’s perfect for baby. Temperature of heated milk on wrist is a good gauge for that, too!!

Im with you on the button sleepers. I hate zippered sleepers for babies under 3 months. The zipper bunches up and looks so weird and uncomfortable. I’ve tried many brands. They all do it.
@baileyrado40412 жыл бұрын
Same! We were the same way, I never understood why people hate the button sleepers so much

I agree on most things! I will say IKEA does have large hooded towels that are great for our toddler!

I'm so surprised at your reason for the bath towel! My 16 month old still fits hers and probably will for a long time

Mine too! I have the Burt's Bees ones and they are huge

I came to say the same thing. 12 months over here and still using the same hooded towels and love it.

I love the hooded bath towels. You must have got a small one cause i got one for my son when he was a newborn and he still uses it now and he is over 3.

Oh wow! Maybe mine was just small 😄

My son hated pacifiers and im so glad he did because the weaning process seems rough 😭

You know what’s harder than pacifier weaning. Thumb sucking weaning, can’t throw those away 😂

We have a baby bath tub that was gifted to us that just lives in our regular tub. It saves us a lot of water and my 2yo still uses it. Also, yes on the baby towels! So useless. In terms of health products, we only have panadol on hand at all times, really handy for teething, fussing after vaccinations and if they have a cold.
@elliegauvin55202 жыл бұрын
Yes same!!!! I'm also not upgrading to a double stroller- just adding a glider board on my thule spring. Thankfully our carseat is compatible so just makes sense to go that route instead of buying a whole new system. We will be buying Bio Gaia probiotic for health products (cheaper at Costco) and doing zippered sleepers (bonds!!) but everything else totally relatable! #2 isn't even getting a bedroom until 6 months old 😂

I'll be interested to see how the pacifier thing works out. We tried to not use pacis but it didn't work out with our baby. Every baby is different. I've heard stories of siblings being complete opposites personality-wise.

Totally. I’m completely basing this off of rook haha

Pacifiers can prevent sids but you do you. My daughter liked them for the first 3 months. And only one brand, Philips lol

I would still get a snot sucker. If your baby wakes up choking on his spit or super clogged in his nose, it’s a lifesaver. If we hadn’t had one I’m not sure how I could’ve helped him those times. A wipe wouldnt have cut it for us

Cannot stand the Velcro swaddles personally. Had them with my first and yes they worked but undoing them for middle of the night diapers just resulted in a wide awake baby

I can relate, my mom has those they don't seem practical

I agree with the paci. Next baby I’ll hold out on using one.

Pacifiers can be useful for babies with reflux too, but otherwise it seems like a faff!

They also reduce the risk of SIDS

About the health products. I would suggest getting baby tylenol in advance if you don't have a pharmacy/store that sells it that's open 24/7 near you just because sometimes a fever will get them out of nowhere and you really want to have it on hand if it happens at night. Especially after vaccines and stuff. This advice was given to me by a nurse after my baby's 2 month vaccines and she didn't need them then but definitely needed them for the 4 month ones. Just a thought!

For my first child I was gifted some hooded towels, but they were full sized towels with a nice big hood. My 1.5 year still uses them and they fit perfectly. But I think the person actually custom made the towels as well. I have 2 so I will just use the other one with my next child.

Wow that’s sounds perfect!

Finally someone else who doesn’t buy zipper sleepers for little babies. Anytime I share that opinion people come for me 😂

I hate zippers for tiny babies!!! Once they are squirming and mobile yes zippers are easier but buttons all the way for littles

For bath water temperature: test on your wrist. NOT hand. WRIST. If it’s too hot on your wrist then it’s too hot for baby
@Luna-fy3in2 жыл бұрын
Okay I need to try that. I do have a little starfish that has the digital temp which works perfect for bath. We just throw it in and adjust the water as it goes. Was like $11 bucks. Been using it since her first bath.
@Thelilmissbz2 жыл бұрын
I always have done the wrist bc that’s what my mom did 😂 it works
@Honeybeemeadow6182 жыл бұрын
You can also dip your elbow in the water. If it is the same temp as your elbow then you're good!
@kamyllem48672 жыл бұрын
I’ve heard elbow is better. Haven’t gotten to try it myself though. Inner arm worked for my first baby though.

My baby hated being swaddled and could get out of every type and material. Literally since she was born. We did the arms up and that worked during the newborn phase. Also she never took a pacifier.. maybe a handful of times. Now we just use them as toys 😂
@ellen90182 жыл бұрын
She sounds like my baby. Never ever wanted to be swaddled. Only tolerated the Love2Dream at the very beginning, then hated that (wish I hadn’t bought so many). Never took a dummy/pacifier… just my nips 😵💫

I agree that baby hooded towels are a waste of money. I liked the adult towels we already had better anyway. I think you’ve mentioned before you don’t find out the gender until birth. Can you do a video about the pros and cons and what the experience of finding out gender at birth is like? Trying to convince my spouse we should not to find out for baby #2.

Zippers are bad when you have a pudgy wiggler: zipping skin makes you feel like a bad mom.

You just need to keep one finger underneath the zipper while zipping :)

Such a great video. I really appreciated the comment on the baby bath, that happened to be something that I was convinced I needed but now I'm going to return it and I feel a weight off of me! Those things are so big and cumbersome. Same things with the pacifiers, if I can avoid creating problems for myself I will! 33 weeks with baby #1 this week 🥰
@KP-bq7yc2 жыл бұрын
Pediatric dentist told me pacifiers are bad for development. I've read from other sources that support that claim. We CHOSE not to use them, and other than some family thinking we're weird, it's great not having one more item to manage and keep track of.
