I read North and South and while I gave it 5 stars (maybe Kate Howe whispered in my ear) since then I’ve never sought out Elizabeth Gaskell as an author. And I probably won’t. Your review of My Sister is a Serial Killer was great. The book never appealed to me because of the plot. And I hate it when a character does something odd for that character. Agatha Christie and I have a “meh” relationship. I admire her writing and the mysteries are clever but I want to get to know the characters more. PS your sweater is lovely.

Thank you, Glenda. Interesting about your experience with Gaskell. I still cannot put my finger on exactly what I didn't like. I was just not driven to pick up the book. Not once. My Sister, the Serial Killer does not strike me as a book you'd like. I thought it would be just my kind of thing, so I was pretty disappointed when it fell short. Onwards and upwards for November!

Shame the reads were disappointing but i csn unseestand why. I had a similar reaction to a tommy and tuppence mystery from AG, where the action took way too long to materialise. Hope November's a better reading month for you.

Yeah, Endless Night isn't one of Agatha Christie's best books.

I suspect that was why my library had the audiobook. Their selection of Christie isn't the best
