What I Saw in this Town still Haunts Me!🇭🇳 | Honduras, Comayagua

I will never forget the day I visited Comayagua, a small colonial town in Honduras. On the one hand it is a very beautiful town with very friendly people who will always help you with anything you need. However, I met 2 little street hustlers who showed me the rough side of Honduras where many children have a different reality and problems to deal with than most of us have had.
I hope this video helps you understand their situation and if you ever see similar legends in a country you are exploring, you will know how to make their day that much better!!

The oldest clock in the western world is located there in that cathedral, it was a gift from the king of Spain to Honduras in colonial times. The clock was built in the year 1000.

🥲❤️Thank you so much for sharing this video. It’s not easy in Honduras. Yes the kids are poor and their parents make them have responsibilities at a very young age. However the majority of these kids are very smart and super advance for their age. You have an amazing heart. It was great seeing the Cathedral that my great grandmother was baptized. There is a lot of Spanish descendants but the majority of them are politicians doctors business owners etc….

Same is true in lots of places in mexico man. Lots of kids in oaxaca city selling things. Gotta do what you gotta do to survive. It is sad though. Kids should be kids and be free to play and enjoy themselves.

My girlfriend in Honduras is a widow with 3 children. Her children (two are teenagers) go to school and the four of them have survived on very little. Not all children work in Honduras.

I've visited Comayagua a few times mostly passing through and not staying more than a few hours. Never stayed the night. Small town and somewhat quiet. With the opening of the international airport down the road there is a hope that the area will develop more. Time will tell.

I felt so sorry for those little kids, they work 9 hours without eating and got beaten when they don't makes sales, this is so sad, thank you very much for buying those kids some food, God bless you bro. Child labour also exist in Africa where you see kids that are suppose to be in school hawking in the traffic, it so sad you, some part of Africa even use their kids to work as maids for other people, this is so sad for me bro. Nice tour of Comayagua. Are you planning on going through Tegucigalpa? Or visit a smaller rural town like Lepaterique where it’s safer? I have a friend who moved from Tegus to Lepaterique with her family when the gangs forced them out of their living quarters in Tegus because the landlord wouldn’t pay the gang tax. You could probably interview her and family about their experiences both positive and not so positive.

I was there in 1987 when I was in the Army. I was station just out side of town at Honduras Air Force base. Seems like it's hasn't progress at all. Use to go to a club Carnival and the kids would ask for money.

It was a beautiful video, but, look, I live in Honduras, and I have seen that you go to the worst (poorest, dangerous) places in this country, and we have poverty, but we have better places than those too, where there is not security bars, and you could feel comfortable and safe. Maybe you always have a very bad luck traveling here. (My recommendation is that you follow the videos of youtuber Shin Fujiyama for more ideas about this country). I was in Comayagua in 2012-2013 when I was in the army. The people are very nice but you have to watch out where you go. It is very dangerous in certain areas and at night time. One of my favorite restaurants to eat was at El Torito. Not sure if it still exists b it the food was very good.

Comayagua is safe during the day most places. Worst chance is to get robbed by a couple guys on a motorbike. That or sketchy guys walking the streets at night. At night its dangerous in the hills above Comayagua as well as the southeast neighborhoods and most outlier areas from the urban center. Never had issue at night at specific locations if I travelled by personal auto or taxi around the urban core. Had a few parties private until late at night and no issues when in a group. Just dont walk alone at night or stand out too much near where you stay. Also did you not check out the open air markets and mall? That place is crazy busy and fun to shop in lol.
