This was awesome! It made me realize that you can take care of bills, necessary expenses, and still treat yourself and have money leftover! I hope you do a similar video again sometime, like a what I spend in a week video 😊

This video was honestly very helpful for me when it comes to the basics of budgeting! I'm a visual learner by nature, and I feel like seeing the exact amounts gives me a good example of what a simple budget can look like. Thanks for sharing :)

Hi Mariela! Great video. I think this video is a great idea for a monthly series. I think that is so wonderful that you support street vendors I do too! Especially the ones that sell the fruit with limon and the chili powder lol.

I switched from one of the big phone providers to an MVNO. It's basically a smaller company that uses the towers of the big companies, and offers the same coverage for a cheaper cost. I use US Mobile (not confused with US Cellular) and it uses the Verizon network. We pay for unlimited everything, and it's $40/line for two lines and $45/mo for just one line. They have a build your own plan, and other options too. The only drawback is that you have to have an unlocked phone (free if your phone with whatever carrier you have now is paid off- you just have to call and ask them to unlock it) so there's no payment plan for if you ever need a new phone- but there's no contract either, and I can literally change my plan whenever. I recently traveled and needed to unlock hotspot capability for a month, and then just went back to my old plan the next month. I'm sure there are other companies out there that are similar, but this one always has great customer service (no long waits!) and I've never had any issues with coverage or anything like that.

thanks so much for sharing! I will need to look into that. I do like to travel as well so might be a good option for me.

@@MarielaMerino We used the hotspot function just so our kids could use their tablets in the car (we drove from MN to TX!) but generally we don't need to use our phones as hotspots when wifi is generally free at many hotels.

Wow - your electric bill! I live in Pennsylvania & my monthly electric bill has been over $100 for the past 20 or so years! I definitely think it's good to treat yourself now & then as long as you do it in moderation.

I would love to live in SoCal someday! I’ve heard my profession earns $60-70/hr there, but I currently own a home in a low cost-of-living area, so I’m not sure what we’d be able to buy there. I’m sure a minimalist lifestyle would help keep our expenses low! If we don’t relocate sooner, I’d at least like to retire there ☀️

it's pricey but wonderful here. that is a great hourly rate and could get you a pretty decent home for Socal. living a minimalist lifestyle out here helps a lot lol

That's a lot more than I spend, but different circumstances. Florida viewer; I don't spend as much for a mortgage payment, housing is high here but not as high as Calif. I live alone and don't spend as much for food, being vegetarian also helps, meat is expensive. I don't know if you have Metro phone in your area, believe they are now T-Mobile. My monthly bill is $42.00, unlimited talk, text & internet. Surprised your electric is so low especially in a climate using ac, you said $40.00, wonder if you meant $400.00? My bill in summer is around $140.00, use ac all the time with temps in the 90's and high humidity. Seems you a higher than normal personal spending month, but that happens, then other months no spending. Interesting to compare to other parts of the country.

Housing in CA is real high. I've cut back on meat but I can cut back more. I will look into Metro, $42 is great! My electric is $40 for the month of July. Is your bill monthly? Exactly, personal spending will go down next month most likely :)

@@MarielaMerino yes, my electric monthly. The $140.00 is average for our summer months and when heating, we do get a couple of cold months. During the off months, bill is between $60 - 80. Guess it's just higher in Florida. We've had temps in the high 90's for a few months now.
