"Eat the Cake" is my motto! I dont deny myself anything I can afford. I'm now 47 and have seen friends who stressed about every bite of food lose their lives to Cancer, penny pinchers who never spent for now because they were saving for the future, one spouse died in a car accident. For them, I wish my girlfriend had eaten those cupcakes she denied herself for those numbers on the scale. I wish my friends had taken that trip together. ❤ Much love to you guys! You hustle hard so you should live with just as much passion!

Two things. 1. I can’t believe the gonads on you to post this. You’re my idol 🤣 2. I can’t believe comments are still on. Nothing brings out the bitter in people like videos surrounding money/spending. I remember when my parents were hand to mouth. Literally lived paycheck to paycheck. When their circumstances changed, they lived their best life. Within their means, of course, but they didn’t hold back. It’s refreshing to see someone not be so stuffy when it comes to money. It’s a sensitive topic and steps on toes but I love it. I refuse to ever apologize for spending my hard earned money the way I want to.

Thanks for the informative video. I think your perspective on debt is the healthiest I’ve seen: Live within your means, but understand that life happens and have a plan outlining how to get out of debt. Your perspective normalizes the concept of debt and shame surrounding debt only gets people into trouble. Also, thanks for sharing about contributing to a 529 plan. I just unsubscribed from a popular KZbinr/Instagram ‘influencer’ who was yelling about ‘funding your child’s college is not your (the parent’s) responsibility’ because making a kid fund it entirely will make them work harder for the degree. Well, that’s certainly part of it, but the other part is, that most ppl are not diligent enough to set back money and be able to pay those lump sum expenses. If I understood what she said, they pay $5,000+ in property tax per year and $1,900+ in house insurance expense. The vast majority of ppl I have encountered would be unable to save $7,000 in a year to pay those expenses, not that they didn’t have the income, but the stick to it tiveness each paycheck and not “borrowing “ from the fund “just this once,” because it’s so accessible all saved up like that, and “I just need an extra $350 this month - I’ll put it right back as soon as I get paid.” That’s my experience.

I love the dip manicures. I have an issue with gel nails because as soon as the polish starts to lift I start peeling it off. If I went to a more ghetto nail spa they would lift within a few days. So I rarely have them for a full week. It’s so bad for your nails - don’t do it haha. So long story long (🤦🏻♀️) - I love the dip nails because I couldn’t peel it off or pick at them. (😂) If you have weak nails and have trouble growing your nails because of breakage these really work great. The glitter options with dip are so great and the payoff is amazing way more than gel and regular polish for sure. Only cons is it’s more tedious to remove, (soaking in acetone like gel polish only for a longer period of time) it’s also a bit damaging especially if you don’t remove them properly. 🤤 if you are still reading this ridiculously long and unnecessary comment I apologize. It’s Friday night in Southern California sitting in my backyard where it’s a perfect 60 degrees smoking weed and watching KZbin. 🤷🏻♀️ Don’t judge. 😉 I do have a tendency to ramble on and on when I’m nice and buzzed. Not that anyone notices. 😂

I love your honesty and it's a very refreshing reality. We all spend and save differently depending on your point of view and how much money you have. My husband and I recently took a trip out of town to celebrate our 15 year anniversary. We didn't tell anybody how we could afford this trip because we live on a fixed income so we probably shouldn't have taken the trip. I have one friend that it's driving her crazy that we were able to make this trip. I think it's funny that she has a lot of money but she wants to know where and how we spend our money. I would never ask anyone how they can afford something. I think it's unbelievably rude to judge anyone on there spending or saving or even how much money they have. I really enjoy your videos so thank you for sharing your life with me.

As an Australian this was so interesting, I live in New South Wales, east coast, which is the most densely populated state, and most expensive, and no way do we pay that much in tax, or insurance premiums, I have top private health insurance, $2400 a year, council rates or "property tax" is around $1600 a year, wow, surely the US government could be making better use of their funds. And the disparity, 90 for a hotel room, yet 80 for a meal? 🤯 I've travelled Australia-wide, & world-wide, you got to struggle in the US, Wow!!!

I don’t judge anyone when it comes to spending money. The cost of living is just so expensive today and everyone’s situation is different. I have always had debt of one form or another. When I was renting, half my expenses went to rent. The past 18 years that I have been a home owner, again half my expenses have gone to mortgage and other cost. Everything else goes to other living expenses. If any emergencies come up like car repairs! It goes on a credit card. I have always paid off my debts, so yes I totally get it. I love your videos and your content is so helpful! Love to you all.

Really cool to hear your perspective on debt. My personal perspective is that it is okay to go into debt for needs/educational advancement/medical necessity but paying it off ASAP is imperative. (We put money aside to not go into debt but sometimes there are emergencies) We are so thankful to have no debt besides the house. It feels very freeing. We did and are still doing the Dave Ramsey plan.

I adore Christine. Frugal Fit Mom. If you are not ready to be debt free and mortgage free you won't be. We were late bloomers too. We found the debt snowball in our 40's. We got debt free and mortgage free in 3 years using Dave Ramsey's plan. With your income, you and Adam could kill your debt quickly. It is all foreign until you are ready. We weren't ready for the idea in our 30s either. Keep an open mind. When the time is right you will work to be debt free. If you don't like Dave Ramsey's extreme conservative approach, try FOO with The Money Guy. Bryan may be more your style.

Technically, you could have divided the property taxes by 26 weeks because it's a 6 month total. And also divided the home insurance by 52 weeks because it's for the whole year. That would reflect a true spend for your week at $6632.17. But hey I'm just saying...🤑😂😁 Love, love, love your channel!! 😍

Hey Jen, thank you for this video... really enjoyed it. You and Adam are quite similar to my own situation... 10 years ago my then boyfriend, now husband, had struggles as well paying bills and now we are happy to put a lot of money in our saving account each month. Glad we grow like this.
