Excellent information. I have a Cannon I bought at Hsn and love it. I didn't know about the photo settings so thanks so much. I wondered why there were two black inks❤️

Marilyn - Does your wide format printer do borderless printing? Would love to see a tutorial on how you use that printer to print digital papers. Also curious - do you know or have a scanner that can scan 12x12? I'm just starting to dabble in digital prints and papers and am interested in learning more about printers and scanners before I invest in buying equipment. Would love it if you have the time to eventually do a tutorial on this subject matter. Thanks!

It does do borderless but it doesn't have a scanner. The scanner I do have on my epson WF-7710 will handle this size, as it ori ts up to 13 x 19. I use this for my sublimation projects only because I converted it with special ink, and had this prior to buying the Canon wide format.

Hi Marilyn-thank you for doing this video... i didn't know there was a printer in this price range that would take watercolor paper. My question is do both of these printers do that. I wasn't sure if it was a perk on both of the printers you talked about. Thank you for your time. Mary B.

Since they both have a back feed, no paper cartridge, I would assume so.

I bought the ip8720 after watching this video and reading these comments because I wanted one printer that would do wide, both ink types, and 300gsm watercolor paper. The Canon website does not say what weight paper it will take, so I went off of this video and this comment. It does not take 300 gsm paper, watercolor or otherwise. The printer I was sent does not have a manual feed slot either. I used the link in the description. Perhaps it has been changed?
@marilyngcrafts2 жыл бұрын
@@autumnjorstad1658 I can't speak for what printer you received. My wide format only has a backfeed. I tried a watercolor paper, fluid 100, which is 300 GSM and it went through fine.

@@marilyngcrafts 🙂I agree. I used the link above and the printer that I received does not. I just wanted people be aware that it may have changed as it is quite expensive and may not be what they thought. Thanks for the videos! I’d really like to see your set up for water color and 12x12 printing in action if you ever get the chance.
@marilyngcrafts2 жыл бұрын
@@autumnjorstad1658 I don't print 12 x 12 for watercoloring, but I do print 12 x 12 and larger for digital paper in color for various projects i.e cardmaking, 3d, etc. Is that what you'd like to see? For watercoloring my images are usually smaller so they fit on A2 sized cards.

I just got the Canon PIXNA ip 8700 series printer and I can not get it to load on my IMAC. Do you have any suggestions? Thank you for your help

Maybe go to the Canon website and download drivers for it. I don't have a Mac computer, so can't walk you through it.

80# hammermill color copy cover cardstock goes through my HP laser great. The 100# same doesn’t.
@marilyngcrafts2 жыл бұрын
I have the 80# but I don't prefer it for coloring. I do like the 100# but it's likely because I'm more heavy handed with my coloring. This comes down to personal preference and coloring style like I said.

@@marilyngcrafts I only use 80 for digital which isn’t often. I was disappointed the 100 didn’t go through. I like that this brand doesn’t bleed as bad as Neenah solar white CC. SPECTRUM Noir has a nice coloring smooth cs too. I tend to try them all. lol
