Everytime I think buying lentils is a great idea and then boom 2 years later and they are still in the pantry 😂

anyone who has red lentils they need to use up here is a simple lentil soup recipe!! i always customize it heavily and its always super good :) sautee 1-2 carrots and an onion for a few mins until soft. add about 1 tbsp of cumin and cook that for approx 1 minute. add 3/4c red lentils, 1.5 cups veg broth, and a 15 oz can of diced tomatoes! bring to a boil then simmer for about 15 mins and add spinach towards the end! its so good with bread and butter. i usually throw in whatever veg, beans, potatoes, etc i need to use up

Pickling green beans is actually super common in the southern US! We always called it dilly beans for reasons unknown to me lol but they're not bad

if you let the orange peel dry (just leave it somewhere dry in your kitchen) then you can use it to add flavor to your tea, it’s delicious :-)

I love seeing these videos of yours, where you prep ingredients or foods/snacks that you know you’ll use/eat. I’ve been working in kitchens for the past 3 years now, so that prepping of ingredients & vital, flavorful components is all too familiar & so fun to see the difference in techniques 🥰

Hey mate, greetings from Australia 🇦🇺 I LOVE your videos!❤ Seeing u using up garlic, made me wanna share my fave way to eat garlic😊 (u probably already do this, but some may not have tried it🙂} I regularly toss heads of garlic in the oven when roasting other things…spuds, veges, chick peas etc…then when cooked and cooled, I just pop the whole cooked garlic heads in a jar and store in fridge. Then whenever snacky…I grab toast or crackers and squeeze out a couple cloves onto it. Soooo creamy and caramelised and ooeygooey ~ plus the harsh raw garlic taste that some love but I don’t enjoy, vanishes! It’s heavenly! Especially yum to eat that toast with soup! ( just had my gooey garlicky toasts with “Emmasrq’s simple red lentil soup” from one of the comments here. Thankyou Emma. It was Delicious!} 🥣

i think the zesting will be less scary for you if you hold the orange and the microplane and use it sorta like how you use a y peeler if that makes sense? like one fluid motion top to bottom while rotating the orange with your thumb supporting the bottom of the orange
