I think I'd make the zebra print first for the dress and see how you like it and then maybe use the second fabric. The mockup looks good! The blouse is looking good, too! I would think gathers for the cuff would be good with a flowier fabric such as rayon challis; the somewhat stiffer shirting seems to me to lend itself to pleats, but since you're the one making it and wearing it, you will have to go with your best instincts and see what you think - good luck! Whatever you do will be fine and then you'll move on to the next conundrum 😄!

Yes, I think i may increase the pleats or add more pleats! Thank you!

Beautiful garments you've made! I like the flower fabric, but I'm partial to anything with flowers!❤

😁 I LOVE flowers! Have you seen my fabric hauls???? About 90% of them feature flower printed fabrics 🤭. I had to focus on solids this year because I have so many printed fabrics, and most of them are flowered prints.

Thank you so much. I’m going to try the dress pattern for my daughter’s wedding now.

For the shirt/dress cuff - I'd just gather the pleated area over the existing pleats, or increase the pleat depth

Yes!!!! Thank you so much! I think I'll do this.

Such nice fabrics. I think both would look great with Simplicity 8832.

Thank you for the recommendation. I'm really struggling here. I've been holding on to that zebra print forever. I don't want to cut into it and be disappointed with the final results.

The fabric you sewed the faux wrap dress with is beautiful. I also love the pattern for the wrap dress.

Nice makes,question couldn’t you make two pleats on the shirt cuff too easy in, i’m not as professional as you are so that’s just a question?
@crumpetsteaandsewing3 ай бұрын
There are two pleats featured in the pattern already. I could definitely add more, but i don't even like the two pleats that's there. I'm thinking of making gathers instead, though 🤔

Is the shirt pattern true to size? I like the idea of hacking it into a dress.
@crumpetsteaandsewing3 ай бұрын
No. As I mentioned in the video, I went down a size. It's has quite a bit of ease. I think it's supposed to be a loose-fitting style.

This is an old technique for finishing cuffs on women’s blouses. Have a look at image #33; when you button the cuff across the gap, it forms a third pleat on the finished sleeve.
