I used to have a poster of the first Transformers movie (where this song was featured) on the wall of my teenage self room. I remember I took a bus to watch this film at a nearby cinema alone because it was so good when I saw the trailer, now the cinema is no more. Now I'm 31 on 2025, looking back in that room, so many things have changed, my parents are getting old and sick. So much nostalgia listening to this song. I hope the best to come, and I hope everyone reading this who's going through something, just keep holding on.

To this day, this song reaches deep in my soul and brings out what I have left in myself to forgive. “Let mercy come and wash away what I’ve done.” Is a lyric, a desperate plea, a prayer, that will always need a home. It is found in this song, the shared memories, experiences and seemingly impossible feelings this absolute piece of art calls to action to defeat. Thank you for continuing on. There’s an entire generation that continues to need you. There’s generations, if only a single soul, that will need you.

You know it’s crazy listening to songs young. When you’re young you listen just to listen you like the sound of it not noticing the words being said. When you get older and come back to the song you realize the song slaps harder when you’re older and can relate and actually understand the words now that you are listening to it at another and older age and another version of you.

Who else was so blown away when they first saw transformers in 2007 and there’s a minute left of the movie and you hear the first couple piano notes to this song , a moment you’ll never forget

RIP Chester. Your songs have helped me through a lot of things in my life and it gave me strength to carry on, quit self harm and self hatred, start a new slate and forget whatever made my life miserable and start anew, knowing I'm not alone in my struggles. This song in particular is extremely relatable to me and I'm grateful. Thank you. I wish someone had been there to give you the same strength. May your soul rest in peace.
