Yeah, I miss StreetPass and other stuff that the 3DS had. Obviously, the form factor of the Switch doesn’t exactly lend itself to carrying it around in your pocket, so here’s my proposal: make a small external device that we can wear like a watch or clip to our keys. This device will do the data sharing while we’re walking around, and then we can synch it with the system when we get home to play Streetpass games. Maybe it could even be used in Super Nintendo World to interact and receive data from objects like they’re already doing with amiibo and Power-Up Bands, and/or have buttons and a little LCD screen that can be used to play simple games (maybe even make it look like a mini Game Boy). It’d be like a cross between the original Streetpass system, the Power-Up Band, and the Poke Walker. The name? It writes itself: the StreetPassport.

Switch 1 is my favorite system of all time. It got me heavily into Nintendo and because I like to travel so much it’s very convenient to be able to take awesome games on the go. Not to mention the idea of being able to share a joy con on the go. Love it.

Really happy to hear Switch games work on the next console as well, as I will be taking advantage of that. This video sums up my wants and needs fairly accurately. I will never forget waking up super early to pick up my Switch day one at Walmart. Slowly a group of us formed in the parking lot and I was actually really surprised by how organized everything was. The crowd was really excited and good vibes were in abundance. It’s been a great console and really popularized the form factor of handheld gaming devices since it launched. My favourite games have been BOTW, Metroid Dread, Mario Odyssey, and of course Animal Crossing.

Games need outright patches to have higher frames. While some games are gonna automatically run at a more stable fps amount and some kight run higher in general, but the fps cap they set is set unless they patch it

For about four years to five I fell out of love with playing games. University, moving abroad and all that stuff. *2DS & 3DS had a little pulsing light next to your game icon letting you know your game has an update.* *I have to randomly force an update on my games over 1000+ because auto update does not work and my games are spread across two 1.5 tb micro sd cards so I have to turn that off, don't want a game that is not on the current card updating itself.* *Also have bookmarked sites that track game updates to let me know which games have updates.*

For me, besides awesome Mario, Zelda and Pokemon games, the switch was first and foremost a gateway to the vast and glorious world of jrpg genre starting with Atelier series through Xenoblade Chronicles, Mana series, Ys 7 and Persona 5. Years after here I am with PS5 homescreen full of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, Visions of Mana, Persona 3 reload, Tales of Vesperia and Nier Automata. My steam is basically FF3 remake and FF13 platform with some Chained Echoes and Chrono Trigger here and there. And obviously many more to come on the switch itself with my sizeable backlog, looking at you Octopath Traveller 2. Switch 2, you better be kind to us jrpg fans. ❤

Love your videos, Johnny. Been watching every Sunday for...many years now. Though I don't agree (at all) with what Nintendo has been doing about emulators, and personally I haven't been too happy about the landscape of Switch altogether (no proper Virtual Console, STILL can't transfer my purchases, P2P multiplayer still exists???!!!), I will undoubtedly be purchasing the Switch 2 at launch because the first party games are just *that* good, and my entire family loves them. I can’t believe how much I’ve used my Switch over the last 8 years. Never in a million years would I have guessed I would use it more than my Series X or PS5, considering the dramatic differences in power. But it always has, and will always be about the games, and you simply cannot be disappointed in the vast library of games the Switch has. I’ll never completely get through my Switch backlog, and I really can’t say that about any other system.

The hardware being dated at launvh is kinda what made it good in a way, sure some games definitely suffer from it, but it kept the switch really affordable and made it really sell units. But even then, so many leaks already confirmed that it would be at least ps4 level strenght, which is enough tbh the graphic leap from ps4 to ps5 wasn't that big

Im very excited for the switch2, ive been a primarily a PC gamer since the 360/ps3 era so i missed out on ps4 era. I did get a switch and have enjoyed a few pokemon, zelda, and other exclusive titles. I really held back though from investing into the console for fear that once switch 2 came along it would not be backwards compatible. The fact it will be has really rallied my interest in collecting more physical switch games and given me more confidence in digital purchases on the console as well.

I have too many fond memories with my Switch to pick a definitive favorite, but one of the standouts is playing through the Xenoblade Chronicles trilogy. I grew up in the 90s and I was raised on SNES to PS2 JRPGs, but when my friends and I got Xbox 360s, I grew away from those games. Playing Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition was like stepping into a time-machine into my past and I realized just how much I missed those expansive worlds with great art direction, music, and stories.

My wishlist is mostly the same thing everyone else will say: -backwards compatibility with some form of upscaler to run my games at more stable frame rates. -tweak the joy cons to be slightly more ergonomic -more internal storage But my big crazy they probably won’t do it list is: -port FF XIV to it. I use my steam deck to play ff XIV and having it on a Nintendo console would make my dreams come true. -add GameCube to the online service, and increase the rate of games being added -allow for more third party streaming apps for music or movies to be streamed.

The Switch was my first console where I bought everything on it with my own money back when I was still in college. It has been an incredible journey through the WiiU and the Switch eras. I cannot wait for the Switch 2! Xenoblade, Astral Chain, Luigis Mansion 3, Breath of the Wild and Fire Emblem: Three Houses were incredible games. Would love to see Galaxy 3, 3D World 2, Captain Toad 2 or Mario Kart 9 as a launch title alongside Metroid Prime 4.

I still have my day one switch, but did upgrade to the OLED Zelda model. I think the Switch is also my favorite all time console, the library is so dense with a huge range of games and the portability of it makes it the ultimate console for me personally. Especially for the well of RPGs on the system alone. I'm still in the middle of my Final Fantasy marathon on the Switch, just finishing the pixel remaster of V and am going to start VI before I hop into X/X-2 since I've never played that. I'm excited and hopeful for the Switch 2 and am so glad that I can still tackle my backlog with the backwards compatibility!

I know some dont like the whole re-release of older games, but i absolutely love it. I can play TOTK and then put in MGS trilogy and then play some of the greatest RPGs ever made.

wont hear any official reveal until after jan30 wen most retailers' holiday return window ends. it makes most sense that this switch 2 will be more of a switch pro with full backwards compatibility. it should accept both switch 1 cartridges and possibly a new slot for the pro/2 ones. it should be possible that all new games with be available for both consoles but whether they have separate styled cartridges is my biggest mystery. i hope the switch 2 will auto upscale all switch 1 games and also have new switch 2 cartridges for even better graphics but who knows.

People seem to forget, in all these videos talking about the Switch 2, the history of backwards compatibility in Nintendo’s consoles. The Wii was backwards compatible with the GameCube, the Wii U with the Wii, the Game Boy Color with the original Game Boy, the Game Boy Advance with the previous two, and the Nintendo DS with all Game Boy Advance games. I get it-it’s a big deal-but please don’t forget! I loved playing GameCube games on my Wii.

Fantasy launch titles-Odyssey 2, Wind Waker/Twilight Princess HD, SF6, F-Zero, Metroid Prime 2,3,4, Oblivion, Metaphor ReFantazio, and a new 2D Warioland. These are mostly a stretch but I can still dream.

It’s been nothing less than phenomenal . The sheer number and diversity of titles has been second to none , probably the best software library of any console ever .

Wave Race 64 didn't launch with the Nintendo 64, although it came out relatively soon in the launch window of the system.

Seeing you and Vic on TV brings back memories. The best lol But yeah, just continue what you’re already doing Nintendo with better performance and better eshop/NSO experience. Games are there. Quality is there. I’m sure they have something under their sleeves but who knows I don’t think they can top the switch reveal 😅 just perfect what it started

I love the switch. I often play it more than anything else just because of the portability. They hit a homerun with it and look forward to the next.
