great advice regarding decants and being patient or thoughtful about buying full bottles in relation to your evolving nose or tastes. I've been shocked at how drastic some of my preferences have changed with more exposure to particular notes or accords.

Feeling the itch to blind buy scents after watching your reviews 😂😂. There s so much truth in what u say. What's your biggest regret in this hobby? Love your work

Not sure if I mentioned it in the video (was a while ago) but biggest regret is probably blind buying too many designer scents rather than sampling first, which would have saved me a lot of cash that I would have put toward niche fragrances. There are only 5-10 designer scents that I would keep and actually end up using.

Thanks for the heads up. Just starting up and bought a bottle of 100 mls blindly which is quite costly for me. Hopefully I like it. Will be sampling decants from now on, luckily found your channel early. Thanks again.

Never had more then 12 but about 15 years ago after blind buying a couple and not liking I sold half of them and haven't bought another until this year. I blind bought Prada lhomme and Nautica Voyage a few months ago and again didn't like. So, I bought around 30 samples from micro perfumes during a 60% off sale and got another dozen for free. After smelling all the samples I realized that I like many but love few and the loved ones are the only worth buying a full bottle of. My first love was Bvlgari pour homme around 2001.

I think another helpful thing is to get your nose on a certain genre of fragrance as that could help you to have a basic sense of what interests you. Also, it’s good to have a sense of what might work for your personality. For example, in general I hate most blue and 80’s style fragrances. There are exceptions (Bleu de Chanel & Beau de Jour for example), but even those aren’t my style. In all a good video, but I hope to not go much further down the rabbit hole of fragrance collecting as it’s too expensive to have as a hobby! 😂

Cool Water has been around since the 1980s. It's one of my least favourite colognes. Maybe it's back in fashion after so many years. I would go for Calvin Klein Contradiction or CK Truth for low-cost choices. Both are light and good for daily wear.

Great advice. I have to stop myself from falling into the collecting designer trap when I really want niche. Quality over quantity right.

Korean here as well (assuming you're KR?)-its interesting seeing what is loved on western circles (i.e. JeremyFragrances, Gents Scents, Max Forti), and its very different seeing what's popular in Asia (KR for example). A lot of the former favors strongly masculine notes, but in eastern circles it seems very unisex, and sometimes they recommend the pour femme versions! Also, niche frags are nice but agree-quite expensive too. Where do you usually get your decants? I'm definitely cutting back on my frag spending, seeing that I can't/shouldn't wear it at the hospital lol

Cool! I get 8mL decants from FragranceNet sometimes, sometimes MaxAroma, other decants I cant find there I look on DecantX. I've used ScentSplit for niche fragrances. Most of us own too many fragrances to wear what we enjoy - I feel it's an addiction, the search for new scents, but I love it haha. Not stopping any time soon
