Hola! Como esta? I'm a fan of your channel. I began watching when you were in Argentina. Which is My next destination. I just spent three months in Centro Merida, of which 3 weeks were during May to June, the entire 21 days the daytime temperature did not drop below 41C/105F. Friends told me that this year were especially hot temperatures. That said, though the Yucatán sun is no joke, the heat is manageable. (RULE #1, STAY OUT OF THE DAYTIME YUCATÁN SUN; #2, HYDRATE; #3, Carry a SUNbrella) Do your outdoor errands early before 11:00am. Then when the sun sets, around 7:00pm the parties begin at most of Centro Merida's numerous parques. The recently renovated Parque Grande; Parque Santa Lucia, and Parque La Plancha are my personal favorites!! There are too many wonderful restaurants for me to have an absolute favorite, but La Tratto Santa Lucia would be it. PITA right down the street is also good. In fact, there are so many wonderful restaurants within Centro Merida that the hardest part of my day was trying to decide where i would dine that day. BusProgreso from Centro to Playa Progreso is a deal at MX52 roundtrip. But, be warned; there is limited outdoor shade and the Yucatán sun is HOT!!🥵 You're spot-on about the sidewalks being abusive to the ankles and knees. Not to mention the sidewalks are often narrow and the curbs are 10" and taller due to poor storm drainage. Merida, Yucatan is nice, but I'm concerned anout the influence the Mexican-Mafia/Cartels hold over government officials! Not only does the Mexican-Mafia/Cartels control trafficking, but they control the bottled water industry; the avacado industry; the Taxi industry, etc. I wouldn't be surprised if they control the busses. BTW, did you visit Mendoza?

Merida is an interesting place. I'm not sure what to make of it yet. It is a bit of a shock compared to Buenos Aires, but it's also an unfair comparison. BA is an international cosmopolitan capital city. Merida is much cozier. But both have some serious mosquitos 😂😂 Which part of Merida did you live? Also, I didn't make it to Mendoza. I was enjoying my time in Buenos Aires too much.

Great video! I used an ATM in Mexico for my vacay and it didn't ask to decline or accept the conversion. The ATM I used was part of a branch. Have you seen this before?

I have actually, but only once and I was nervous what kind of exchange rate they were going to give me.

Does it help with a visa stay if you already have a bank account in Mexico? How hard is it to open one from the states?omg what? 2 SIM cards? you have to switch them out?
@nomadicfireАй бұрын
My phone has two Sim slots, so no swapping necessary.

A bank account is not necessary for a visa. They are two different processes.

what do you do if you have a lot of luggage because you're moving to Merida? Can the private cars pick up at the airport?
@nomadicfireАй бұрын
Lots of luggage is not issue. Just inform the company beforehand, so they can ensure a vehicle with enough space. You can use this company for reliable English speaking private drivers. link.nomadicfire.com/airport-pickup
