I appreciate your honesty about the hiccups and "meh" experiences you had on the cruise! Fortunately, almost all of them could be hedged by spending some time in cruise forums, reddit, or watching videos (like yours) here on KZbin. My husband rolls his eye at me because I've been constantly watching videos since we booked our cruise last month. But with the cost of an Alaskan cruise (!), I want to make sure we have our ducks in a row. There's definitely a different kind of prep for Alaska than for a Mexican or Caribbean cruise.

THANKS for telling us what time of year your cruise was. So many vloggers don’t mention the season & temps! ….. On your packing vlog, heard you mention flying pressure bothers you. Try EARPLANES, available in airport stores & also drug stores. Follow the instructions and they work wonders to prevent blocked ears and pressure in general. CHEERS!

That's good to know that Celebrity doesn't work for texting, I'll definitely keep that in mind for future trips. I am about to leave for Alaska on the Norwegian Bliss and the wifi package specifies that you can use messaging apps like Messenger and WhatsApp, as well as iMessage. Hopefully that's helpful info for your next trip!

You picked a higher end cruise line that caters to a certain demographic that tends to sway older, and then didn't like any of the activities for older people. You probably would have had a better time on a lower cost cruise line, because those lines are trying to have something for everyone. Look into one of those and then upgrade that experience. Like NCL Haven. I think it would be a happy medium for you and your husband.

Hi! My husband selected the cruise line. He went with Celebrity because it was voted "best food". Also, while we love kids, we were celebrating a life event and wanted a cruise line that catered to an older demographic.
