@@Poppy- I don't know if you mean it or not but this is sort of offensive to black people, to refer to us as 'colored.' My comment was talking about how there seems to be few black, asian, brown people who partake in dressing vintage, not that she is a role model for me...your comment suggests things that aren't great so I won't ask you about it just that I hope you reevaluate whatever preconceived biases you might have towards a group of people and try to educate yourself on where those would be rooted in and understand how different people are affected by things that probably don't affect you.

@@japanesegrime I am a coloured, mixed person. I wrote coloured to include ALL COLOURS and put girls in "" because I'm not a girl anymore. My comment is far from being offensive. I wished I had models like Emilia as a child, teen and young adult. That was all. On the education side... I grew up in an era where I had to deal with skin head/neo natzis. I totally agree. I've always love old hollywood vintage styles since i was a little girl. I thought such looks were unattainable or perhaps too costume-y to wear as everyday fashion or style until I discovered the Land Girl look from a British tv show of the same name, and completely fell in love with that style. I purchased so many guacho pants and little waist length cardigans, leather oxford w/heels. Cute squirts. I acheived my land girl look with little touches here and there-and a few broaches. Only drawback, the corporate job I had didn't allow quacho pants although mine look like tailed shorten trousers-very stylish. i still have quit a bit modern clothing that yields to a vintage aesthetic.

I love how you mix in and mentioned "80's doesv40's''. The coat is lovely. You have a good eye for styling your pieces. I like that you're so natural. Not putting on any exaggerated pinup persona. So fresh and not garishly overdone at all I knit 40s and 50s knits so I appreciate the knits. It also helps to sew. I've been a into this era since I was a teen. It's still my sigature style at nearly 50. It has taken me years to build my accessories and shoe collection. I wear it all every day and I love repro pieces too. It's not just for dress up. It's timeless and elegant. Well done with your wardrobe. Original things are so hard to find these days.
