Of all the influencers out there you are one of the very few that are relatable to the average woman that has an average budget to work with. You also come across as a very nice person which makes your videos believable. Thank you.

You have a great sense of humor saying an item is old at 4 years. Just donated a top quality pair of boots my parents purchased for me at 15; now I am 54. 🥳 Perspective is relative. Julie 🌷

Some great ideas thank you. I’m a mum of 4, one set of boy twins (now aged 7). I have been through a lot of jeans over the years. Worn them until they have fallen apart! With 4 children in school I came up with the idea to recycle our old school uniform within the parent community and with that the “No cost uniform shop” was born. Families donate good uniform (including coats and shoes) in clean condition. We then check the quality, see on missing buttons and hang on rails. Once a month we hold a uniform shop and parents can come in and pick what they need and when they are finished with the garments they donate them back and so it goes on. It’s been going 4 years now and it’s helped so many families on low income but also helping the environment and making sure every child can access uniform for FREE. Just an idea for your daughters clothes - my mum made a quilt with my children’s baby clothes with a personalised message. They are amazing. If you want to see them for ideas I can send you pictures. Have a great week. X

We are -38C today 🇨🇦 so I have on so many layers there is no style left 😆! Seriously, 6 months of the year I wear a down parka, pack boots, a huge scarf, wool touque and heavy mitts just to deal with the cold. Not very fashionable, but absolutely necessary!

One item that might work for working mothers, it works great for me: machine-washable, cotton-knit blazers (dry flat). They give one the structure and look of a blazer, just a bit softer, but are so much more practical and comfortable. They are both warmer and more breathable (hence cooler in warm weather) than polyester blazers. I have one in each of my basic colors: black, navy, beige and white, plus one checked one (most of mine are Ralph Lauren, but they recently started adding polyester, a no-go for me). Nordstrom and J. Crew also usually have some. I have been adding small, square shoulder pads to mine to sharpen up the shoulders a little, they were mostly purchased when shoulder pads were never used, say from 2000-2018. I’m not happy with the quality of most high-street blazers, like Zara’s $150, polyester inside and out, dry-clean only ones. No thanks! I always feel great with a blazer on, even if over a very casual outfit, and they do for great things for the look of the female figure.

I hate cold, so I wear nylon tights during winter, with skirts AND pants. Sheer, opaque, patterned, lacey...it depends on my mood. BTW if you choose the right sheer nude color no one could ever tell that you're wearing them! 😊

We’re about a month into seasonal spring (if not calendar spring) here in the San Francisco, California area. Many trees have finished blooming, some are at their peak. It’s beautiful, but tricky to dress for weather, close to freezing in the morning, but about mid-70s F in the afternoons. At home, I often end up changing my clothes at mid-day, but when I’ll be out for the whole day, my layers need real planning. I’ve been wearing a lot of white or cream with navy, light blue, green, pink or taupe, but in year-round (as close as I can get) natural fibers.

I love that all these are practical and cute and you are real with us about needing full length jeans and that you change which I think is totally a good thing to do so the knees of things don't get busted! I think honestly seeing your super old beat up acne boots is a testament to loving clothes till they are dead before buying a new thing! I have a pair of knee high boots I wore into the ground and I remember being so sad because I still haven't had a pair of boots like that since.

Hi Signe, So glad you keep bringing up Contrast Style. This helps me understand it more. I love this concept. This is helping me a lot. I cleaned out my closet this weekend. It was fun. Thanks for the inspiration. Also, I like how you have said in your blog that cleaning out our closet helps us focus on what we have instead of focusing on the next purchase. How true! I have two cardigans. One I am going to donate. The other is too small, I have that in a pile in case I do loose some weight. I feel like cardigans make me look so frumpy. But this black one that I am keeping, I took so much time in picking it out years ago. So, I am not ready to get rid of it yet. Good luck finding a new pair of jeans!

Hey Signe I know you are doing a no buy this year and obviously your acne boots are getting really worn but you should reach out to Bedo's Leatherworks, Trenton and Heath or VeTiVer here on KZbin. They do amazing repairs to shoes (shoes you would think are only fit for the bin). Sometimes shoes are reconstructed better than they were originally made. Just a thought anyway. Love your content Sarah x

The first things I do when I get home: remove my bra or replace it with a stretchy bralette; replace my bottoms, if any (I wear dresses a lot) with comfortable, stretchy ones; and change my leather footwear for my Steggmann wool clogs or Birkie Arizonas, depending on the temperature. I wear Tabio silk socks year-round, with cashmere ones over them, if needed. (I need good, supportive, nipple-hiding bras in public for my age and bust size, but they’re never comfy enough for at home). Comfort first, always!

Hi, can you tell me how to wash leather trousers? With love from Poland 😘
@kimberlyperrotis89622 жыл бұрын
Genuine leather needs to go to a dry-cleaner that specializes in leather. Faux leather (plastic) can be gently machine-washed in lukewarm water, then hung to dry. Hope this helps, my friend🙂
@UseLess_dk2 жыл бұрын
I wouldn’t recommend washing them, I would spot clean them with a damp cloth otherwise take them to a dry cleaner or leather specialist 🙏🏻☺️

I would get an updated style to replace the Acne Jensens. The problem with glued shoes is that the glue eventually dries out, especially if stored in warm or hot, dry places, this causes the separation of the layers. The, when you take them to be re-glued, the cobbler can’t remove the old glue residue, so can’t get a good bond, and it just keeps happening over and over. This shouldn’t happen to shoes in that price range, and I also think that style is looking a bit dated and overdone, time to move on, sorry sweetie, just my opinion. (I have a big problem with shoes coming un-glued in my hot, dry climate, so I ended up putting my seasonal stored items in the coolest part of my home, that helped; storing things on my top floor also ruined all the clothes I have with elastic waists or spandex in them, they just fall off, the stretch is gone, I’m repairing the ones I can).
@edithtierce82092 жыл бұрын
Maybe find a new cobbler to repair your boots… Every time I have had a pair repaired they turned out even sturdier than to begin with…
