Why Steve, he's so little? That's the *point.* He fits in the suit. Back in WWII, the US Army had height standards for different jobs. Short guys got to be tank crews or paratroopers, tall guys got infantry.

I appreciated that Captain Carter had an almost decisive mentality when she started to kick ass. She didn't hesitate and was definitely looking to demolish people. Steve seemed to have more of a hesitancy and would frequently block/deflect THEN go for the beat down. Its cool that you can see their similarities but also recognize they aren't some cheesy 2 dimensional copies of the same individual.

Yea I kinda figured that once the episode started because I mean she's been an agent in the field for a while already so her hand to hand to skills were way better than Steve's and she didnt have the hangups of giving everyone the benefit of the doubt like steve did

I agree! The way I saw it was since she was already a member of the MI5 and the SSR and most likely had more training than Steve did at that point, it made her way more comfortable and confident in herself and her abilities

e1 was solid, basically them easing general audiences into the concept of ''What If?'' without going too wild. I wasn't a huge fan of the animation at first but it grew on me. I'm curious if we'll ever see any of these timelines converge back into 1 timeline.

Something I love about this show is thinking about all the different ways these events would impact the world at large: - Obviously feminism would take a big boost with one of the biggest heroes of the war being a woman -Unlike in a captain America here the world would still have a superhero even after HYDRA was defeated in Steve and the HYDRA stomper - Without HYDRA having made all the advanced tech they did there would be far less reason for their scientists to be absorbed into SHIELD so they’re less likely to be infiltrated - With no Winter Soldier all the powerful figures he removed and countries he influenced are completely changed - With a cross-Allies Captain Carter rather than a nationalistic Captain America there could be more cooperation between the Allies aeven after the war, at the very least she’d be as idolised in the UK as in the US

Armored weapons at that time usually had MAXIMUM height and weight qualifications. That bulky tech is gonna be cramped inside, so having a little guy like Steve piloting the suit actually works out perfect.

Apparently the writers intend to revisit Captain Carter's universe to continue her story every season of 'What If?'. I look forward to seeing what the next-gen Tesseract technology from Stark looks like. I'm also wondering if Tony Stark will be less of a skirt-chaser considering the effect Captain Carter must have had on popular culture.

Finally I've been waiting for y'all's reactions to What If...? It's truly something magical imo, the first episode has great fighting choreography and most of the voices sound okay, though the second episode is paced much better and has better twists. Hope you guys have a ton of fun with this series. P.S. I'd love it if you guys could react to the New Rockstars What If...? Breakdowns as well, Eric Voss has some really interesting things to say about the Easter eggs in the episodes.

Some people complained that Peggy was stronger than Steve when she got 'Captained'. Said it was stupid girl power. No. It's been established in the MCU that the serum amplifies everything. The stronger the person is before the serum, the stronger they are after. Steve was small and weak, as well as having a myriad of illnesses. Peggy was at least in good shape and health, so she'd be stronger even before the serum. I mean hell, they showed it in Falcon & Winter Soldier. Walker easily overpowered Sam and Bucky, as well as other super soldiers in single combat after he took the serum. And they stated in episode 2 that he was off the charts physically. So, with serum, Walker is likely the strongest Super Soldier in the MCU right now. Karli only had the leg up because she had Super Soldier allies and was small enough to easily evade him.
