@irasnalida3 жыл бұрын
Tony didn't make Vibranium in Iron Man 2. If it was Vibranium then Jarvis would say "Sir you created Vibranium" because they already know Vibranium exist so they know it's composition and atomic number. The element Tony created was similar to the Tesseract which contains the Space Stone. His father studied the The Cube and devised a new element, which Tony synthesized in his basement. We know this because Tesseract can be used as a battery for clean and renewable energy. Because this element was similar to Space Stone is the reason why Loki wasn't able to mind control him with Mind Stone in Avengers.

first off, the scepter couldn't affect him cause of the reactor in his chest. second as Ryan said, the novelization even said it was vibranium, well, synthesized vibranium. the novelization came out a few months prior to iron man two. also jarvis couldnt have known it wouldve been vibranium cause keep in mind, he was created by tony with stuff tony had access to, his father had vibranium and knew about it, and the black market keeps low key about things.
@irasnalida3 жыл бұрын
@@thealmightytruffles9622 what if the writers just searched for a fictional element in Marvel Comics and named the element Tony made Vibranium.... They just needed a name for it. After all Vibranium is the magic metal of MCU, the writers can make it do whatever they want to.... Don't forget that before making the element Tony read his father's notes. And Tony was taking his own notes from that. On one of the page we even see a cube representing the Tesseract. His father had worked with both Vibranium and Tesseract. So there's no doubts that he did research on both and knew about the atomic structure. (The new element Tony made can be a mixture of both) As far as mind control is concerned, I think Hawkeye was wearing some clothing and bullet proof vest which still covers his body. So it shouldn't work on him either for the same reason it didn't work on Tony. Plus it's mind control not heart control...lol I don't think it matters where you touch the person.

Tony was 21 when his parents were killed (born 29 May 1970 they died 16 December 1991). Obadiah had a few weeks, maybe a couple of months, as interim CEO before Tony recovered from their deaths and asserted his control. He took over the company almost immediately, not years later. Obadiah was never anything more than the COO (Chief Operations Officer) and business partner to Howard and later Tony, for any significant time. He didn't have years running the company only to have Tony take over at 18. He may have covered for Tony when the latter was being irresponsible, but the Starks maintained personal control for all but those few weeks in almost 70 years (1939-2008).

At a guess the super effective killer, Killmonger, hit Tony's brachial artery (or given the more central location, the sub-clavian artery), with the spear itself compressing and sealing the wound. Eric then approached Tony and forced the spear deeper while twisting it, opening the wound completely and tearing that artery (a trick the Gurkhas used on the femoral artery, twisting the blade to prevent the ways the body reacts to prevent major blood loss from major vessels being transected). Completely sever either vessel, as Killmonger appeared to do, and the massive blood loss would render you unconscious in as little as 15 second, with death following a minute or two later. We only see him use the knife on himself, not Tony. Which, oddly, means Tony was dead already. Remember, each scar was a confirmed kill, he likely wouldn't mark himself for a knockout or in advance.

Get hit in the right place (brachial or sub-clavian artery) and a shoulder wound can render you unconscious in as little as 15 seconds, and dead in a couple minutes. Looking at it, probably the sub-clavian (which is between your clavicle, or collar bone, and your uppermost rib) and not the brachial (which goes below your shoulder joint running deep in your armpit). They are both major vessels that are under a LOT of pressure (like the carotid in your neck) because of their size and proximity to your heart. Completely transecting either of them (cutting or tearing them all the way across) would spray blood like a proverbial firehose. There really is no good place to suffer penetrating trauma like that to your torso, or high on your extremities. Especially with someone like Killmonger, who'd know exactly where to hit for it to be quickly fatal.

So both Ross and Killmonger are villains. Ross is very up from with his obsessions and evil whereas Killmonger is duplicitous and manipulative. He is also smarter and is a sociopath. I love that Shuri steps up and shows she’s smarter than everyone else. I would love to see part 2 of this what if.

I loved this episode but was just a little confused about the timeframe. Both T'challa and Eric would have been in their very early 20s in 2008 when Tony goes to Afghanistan, and Eric most likely wouldn't have had that hairdo or the number of kills as he would have probably just become a Seal. And wouldn't T'Chaka have still been the Black Panther at that time? And didn't the South African guy steal the vibranium from Wakanda years later? I have many questions...

Only thing I can say is that T’challa was hopping around in the BP suit before he was the BP right? Like how he was in Civil War
@Getwright-3 жыл бұрын
Klaw (the South African) stole the vibranium while killmongers father was still alive. Helping him steal it was the crime that got killmonger father in trouble. It was implied that Okoyes husband (the rhino herder) had been waiting a long time for justice
@darkamora51233 жыл бұрын
If he was the same age as his actor, then Killmonger would have been, but T'Challa would have been around 30. You see,, the T'Challa becomes Starlord episode gives us a 9-11 year old T'Challa in 1988 (hard to say his age, exactly, but at least that old). Assuming all variants of an individual share a birth year, 20 years later in 2008 he'd be 29-31. Honestly they made T'Challa Chadwick Boseman's age (Chadwick was born in 1976) making him 31 or 32 depending on his birthdate and the date of the episode setting. Further, they might be fudging, and making Killmonger quite a bit older than Michael B. Jordan. MBJ is 34, which would make him 21 in 2008. However the opening scene of Black Panther, when Killmongers dad dies, is set in 1992 and the young Erik was played by an 11 year old, so despite reality, the adult character is six years older than MBJ, at 27 in 2008. Also, as another response pointed out, it was helping Klaue steal the vibranium that led to the 1992 confrontation between T'Chaka and Killmonger's dad. The tie in comics (which expand on some back story) has main time-line T'Challa becoming Black Panther in 2009. While Iron Man was set in 2008, the events of this episode may have dragged that far enough out of line to keep that 2009 date. Another explanation could be different reality different dates, or even simpler, a slight continuity oopsie. Take your pick.

Man, Killmonger was fricken scary in this episode having played BOTH sides. He was pretty full on in the Black Panther film but the What If animation really shows how frighteningly smart and tactical he is.

Interesting detail - Killmonger's strategy to win T'chakka's trust is basically the same as Loki's in the movie, Thor: remove the beloved son from the scene, entice the enemy to enter, kill them in front of your family to earn their trust, prove that you are worthy of succession/ adoption into the realm/kingdom, and finally, become that successor to the noble position. In this What If episode, the tactic worked, in the case of Loki, it backfired to him. Also, while Loki was doing this, he made a visit to Thor (exiled on Earth) in what was supposed to be his last conversation with him. Here, Killmonger also had a final conversation in the ancestral plain with T'challa before he finally became Black Panther. The required intervention by good willed companions happened in time (Lady Sif & Warriors 3 was able to reveal Loki's scheme) to save Thor and prevent Loki from succeeding in his scheme. In this episode, Shuri's intervention is a little late to save T'challa but, who knows, maybe she has enough time to prevent Killmonger to continue his evil plan.

I'm very appreciative that you or someone on your team noticed and pointed out that Killmonger isn't truly a liberator just after vengeance and is using it as a conduit for his trauma. This was and still is a heavy topic in Blerd communities. Was Killmomger the hero and T'Challa the villain in Black Panther? The truth lies somewhere near the middle.

One detail i noticed is that killmongers panther suit is different then the one from the 2018 Movie because shuri hasn’t made the nano tech suits yet and as a matter of fact it resembles the style of the 2016 panther suit tchalla wears in civil war and even this episode

Nobody seems to be talking about when Tony and Killmonger are at the bar, and Tony compares them to Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. Pepper tells them that they (Butch and Sundance) both die in the end of their story. Mirroring how Tony and Killmonger died at the end of their stories in the MCU. Granted there is a possibility Killmonger may be coming back like the comics. But its still pretty symbolic.

I couldn't help but notice that Killmonger's plan to win Wakanda was similar to Loki's in 1st Thor movie. Making the enemies attack on his own kingdom and then killing the enemies to prove his loyalty.

I wish there was a What If/Multiverse version of Kilmonger who is actually a good guy and can be the next Black Panther by coming to the universe that we are familiar with. I just love the actor Michael B Jordan, and feel like he would play the role well. Besides, it is a little interesting how they got a “Big Hollywood Name” to return, to only voice one 30 minute long episode…isn’t it? His character felt a little expired by this point, sort of strange.

Cool episode, but stupid how easy the drones went down. They ain’t super human so it doesn’t make any sense. Also dumb how arms dealer Tony Stark didn’t think to have the drone just shoot Killmonger. He straight up should have died in that fight.
@guyshepard96583 жыл бұрын
Alot of stupid shit in this episode. Like why didn't Tony just have the Robot hold Kilmonger down when he trapped him in his house. He could have taken the spear or just run to a saferoom while the police or military or whatever arrived. He just stood there like an idiot. Kilmongers just some dude he can't out muscle a giant fuckin robot that weights several tons. Or throw a missile several hundred feet into the air.
@strawhatkane3 жыл бұрын
I'm guessing the drones went down so easy because Killmonger was seemingly controlling them, and he wanted the Wakandans to win to further his plan, and Tony made the original drone fight hand to hand because he assumed KM had no chance, gotta remember this version of Tony is still uber arrogant. That's just my opinion tho

I think a "what if King T'Chaka didn't kill his brother N'Jobu?" would have been more interesting, Killmonger grows up in Wakanda with slightly different beliefs sparking a civil war/fight for the throne with T'Chala or something. This just felt like mashing together Ironman and Black Panther movies into a hybrid movie...it was pretty, but not very interesting.

Tony was only able to miniaturize the Arc reactor because of the flash of insight he got during the torture/waterboarding in the Afghan cave. Without the stress, he couldn’t crack it. That’s why he dismissed it so fast in this episode. This is another huge ramification since the tech influenced all later armors, Spider Man’s suit, quinjets, and the SHIELD hover carriers
