Yeah, well one popular, interesting theory has been, that the reason Windu sent Anakin to the Jedi High Council Chamber in ROTS when he went to arrest Palpatine is because when he got back, he was going to grant him the rank of Jedi Master for exposing the Sith Lord and fully gaining their respect and trust.

They really should! Marvel and Star Wars are two assets they're taking a lot of liberties with, they should take the What If model and apply it to Star Wars! I'd love to see these scenarios play out. The rush from Anakin to Vader in Episode III was kind of ridiculous in my opinion. I'm no longtime hardcore Star Wars fan but it seems like, from my childhood, a LOT was milked out of the prequels to games like Old Republic and the Legends series; it's almost like the prequels era has become the focal point while the original trilogy is the nostalgic one. They could do a ton of What If's out of the prequels/Republic Era and kind of make a branch timeline that's way more realistic and that I'd love to see more of, which is Anakin not becoming Vader and the Republic ongoing.

actually it's *suggested* that palpatine managed to turn him to the dark side some time before order 66, and he's the reason we see no temple guards during the event

What I feel would be more realistic is if Padmé was able to save Annie. He still falls and when he is saved he still has to face his crimes of killing younglings but ultimately he is redeemed like Lord Reven was a thousand years before him and became the prodigal Knight that saved the Republic.

Anakin didnt need Palpatine to turn to the dark side. He did not process his feelings of guilt correctly. Normal people adjust their behavior when they do something bad.. Anakin didnt do that. He adjusted his belief system to justify his behavior. People do not know this... It is the core and heart of Anakins pain. It dominated his entire life... Until Luke dissolved that facade with his selflessness, love, and bravery.

One of the biggest weaknesses of the Jedi is that they try to suppress their emotions rather than learn to deal with them properly, the whole 'no attachments' thing. It always seemed to me that that one thing led to more Jedi turning to the Dark Side than any other single factor.

Now this is how it should have been done. I like it so much better than Anakin turning to the dark side. Of course we never would have gotten Darth Vadar but as far as I am concerned, that is ok. Episodes 4, 5 and 6 would have been much different but that is ok too. Those episodes could have been about the raising of Luke and Leia and watching their training and becoming Jedi Knights. But the Jedi would have to see their weaknesses and change their teachings and codes. Be more flexible and allowing the padawans to learn about the dark side as well as the light. Well like what Luke did with the Jedi after he took over. It would be amazing to see Anakin be able to reach his full potential and what that would look like. There are plenty of evil doers that can be written in the story to keep them busy. I just feel kind of unfulfilled not being able to see Anakin or Luke reaching their full potential on the big screen. The story talked and talked about both but didn't have Anakin doing it but it did for Luke to but Disney stole that from us. The novels and comics gave us the Luke we all wanted to see but reading about it just isn't the same as seeing it with our eyes. Up on the big screen is where we all want to see what full potential looks like.

Windu probably could have killed all 4 of them alone…but he was injured with his fight with palatine before but still they would easily best them. Maybe if the inquisitors had a back up where they had maybe Dark Troopers (droids from the mandalorian) then it would be a struggle while anakin dealt with Palps

Great story but should have replaced the inquisitors with some sort of secret sith assassins being trained as a contingency plan. The grand inquisitor was still a jedi at this point and they would also be no match for the Jedi Masters

Technically yes as his training was incomplete, however we have seen him as a Force Ghost on Mortis in The Clone Wars Season 6, and have seen him contact several people albeit not fully as a Force Ghost, like with Yoda in the ROTS Deleted Scene, so I dont think its too much of a stretch for a fan-fiction, thanks for the feedback.

If he hadn't turned than Palpatine would have had the force dyad that he was trying for. He didn't know that it had to be made up of a lightside and darkside user. The Jedi also didn't seem to realize that the most effective way for the chosen one to rid the galaxy of the sith was by becoming one himself and afterwards returning to the light. I've always thought in this fictional world of Star Wars that if in the last moments Anakin had not completely given in to the Dark Side what a huge guilt load he would carry. Killing of innocent Jedi children as if it was a slaughter house. How could any individual ever move on from committing such a heinous act. In fact even after Jedi when he lay in Luke's arms removed from the Dark Side of the force surely his spirit/ghost would forever remain haunted by his actions.

Mace in my opinion also strayed into the grey aspects. It’s in his fighting style and in him decide for himself that the emperor was to much a threat alive.. He went along with the Jedi council but if you notice in the scenes, he looks very annoyed at other council members opinions. I have no doubt if things transpired differently, mace would have been allies with anikin

I think if George Lucas had started with the prequels, this could have been one of the potential endings to Episode III. In addition, I think Palpatine would have transferred his essence to another body like we now know he did at the end of Return of the Jedi. Though the titles of all the movies would have to change. Perhaps the 2nd Trilogy would become one about the Twins growing up or when they are grown and there is a new dark menace coming towards the Republic. Interesting theories. If Star Wars were ever completely rebooted, maybe this is a direction they would take (whoever owns the rights at that point in time - Disney or whomever). Darth Vader could still exist but is just not Anakin Skywalker but a completely unknown fallen Jedi. Palps had plans B-Z, I'm sure so there's probably lots to select from.

I think where as the Original Inquisitors gained power by hunting mostly Padawans. These inquisitors would be gaining experience fighting much higher trained Jedi and any that survived would have grown from those battles. Creating more of an Old Republic age of Sith vs Jedi. And we would see the rule of 2 abandoned as Palpatine would rely on numbers over a covert highly trained single apprentice.

I feel as if Disney should do a what-if series predicated on Anikan fulfilling the prophecy and killing Sidious. I feel like that would have been a better ending.
