I would've loved to see Anakin live up to his full potential, watching what badass adventures he would venture on. I would enjoy an alternate reality-movie, where we follow Anakin & Obi-Wan after Revenge of the Sith, as they fight back against Sidious, aided by Windu and Yoda. And in the end, Anakin might disagree with the Jedi still and try to reform them, resulting in civil war! It would be so cool to see Ewan & Hayden together again 🙏

that depends on perspective.If you look at the kotor lore, many of the more powerful Sith Lords had the ability to subliminally influence emotions and actions and they can plant false vision into a person's dreams. Combine this with another factor, the battle of Endor, shows that Palpatine has battle meditation as well. This was shown as the rebel fleet was losing the battle right up until Palpatine's focus was broken. (Palpatine started torturing Luke and stopped controlling the battle.) Palpatine likely had a hand in several tragedies in Anakin's life as the Visions of Padme's death and his mother being taken fell into place a little too conveniently.

If Anakin didn't turn then Palpetine would be dead in the fight with Mace since Anakin wouldn't have betrayed him. No order 66. The sith really would be wiped out (except Maul would still be alive) because Grevious and Dooku were dead at this point.

+Revan Good point. Chances are, not as much would happen as one would think. The Jedi would have needed Anikan more than Anikan needed the Jedi at that point, and if Anikan sided with Windu in that crucial moment, it's likely he would have sided with the light side of the force for good. (So there'd be less reason for the Jedi to banish him.) It's actually fairly likely the Jedi would have allowed jedi to get romantically involved if most of the order had been wiped out -- they'd need both more baby jedi, and not have the resources to go out across the galaxy and get all the force-sensitive children who would have been born.

This would turn many people against the Emperor, and the remaining Jedi Order would allow the rebellion to develop much quicker, with bigger support. In the main canon, Palps force powers were hidden to all but his trusted advisors. I doubt it would be much of a war, everyone would just turn on the empire. (who would have little support)

They should make alternate universe movies or tv shows, like a TV movie series that would show alt things each episode, and if a certain episode had better ratings, they would consider making it a feature film but under a different style title, instead as episodes it would get a name. Kind of like rogue one but as a different universe. Personally I would like to see what would happen, in a cinematic, Vader turning to the light side at the end of episode 6. Or a universe where clones didn't have inhibitor chips, or they weren't as strong as they were, and they still had some power over what they did. Or even a tv show based on the old republic. I'd like to see another alternate reality "what if" about how things might have turned out if Anakin had still turned to the Dark Side but didn't get mangled and burned at the end of his first fight with Obi-Wan as Vader. I think it'd be interesting. On a similar note, I've gotta ask...when Sidious threatened Yoda by saying that Vader would become more powerful than either of them, was he serious, or was it mostly a bluff? I know Anakin is said to have the potential to reach levels far beyond the likes of even Yoda or Sidious, but Sidious seems like such a selfish character. In light of this, it puzzles me as to why he'd chose an apprentice who could one day overthrow him. Any insight on this? Great video, btw! Mace is one of the two other Jedi I wish would've survived through to the original trilogy (and possibly beyond), and I like the thought of having Anakin potentially reach his full power.

This is theorized to have lowered his maximum potential as a force user and lightsaber combatant. My main reason for asking about this scenario is how Vader's future career would have been different in light of this, especially if he had overtaken Sidious. I've seen some people take stabs at the idea of midichlorians indicating one's potential, but still, that seems like just their opinion of the matter. I will agree, though, that he wouldn't be as intimidating (or as awesome) without the suit. Of course, James Earl Jones' voice plays a major role in these things as well!

Screw this. I hate, HATE, the idea of Palpatine throwing his fight with Windu. It's no fun, at all, to have a character who's so good he is impossible to beat in a lightsaber dual. I believe Mace Windu would have won without Anakin coming in.

Maybe, but still, Anakin would make a significant ally against Palpatine, and don't forget, that even though Anakin may have been inexperienced, he was still among the best duellists in the Jedi order at the time of ROFS. He had gone past Obi-Wan in lightsaber battle, so I think he was almost on par with Mace Windu on that matter ;)

(I'm treating this video as if it's only working with current canon and not the older EU) I don't think the Rebels would have rose because I doubt The Republic would have fallen. If Sidious is focused on keeping away from the Jedi he doesn't have time to commit major war crimes. Order 66 wouldn't be about taking control (Assuming he survives Mace and Anakin which is...iffy at best) it would be about pure revenge. Remember many Clones discovered their chips and removed them. I think you'd have a sizable minority of clones that would remain loyal and follow Rex's example of removing the chips. They'd return then. More then likely so would Ahsoka. I don't think Sidious would run the raid on the temple as it runs a direct risk of running into Mace and Anakin. Instead of the raid being a full on attempt to kill the Jedi it becomes a distraction as Sidious heads to the Unknown Regions. While I agree with you that Vader isn't essential for the Empire. You failed to take two major things into account. The Empire loses Vader. But the Republic also gains Mace. Sidious would have no chance in a situation of Kenobi, Windu, Skywalker, and Yoda. And at best he'd escape Windu and Skywalker. But he's intelligent. He wouldn't try and stay that fight. He'd go to the shadows. With that many Masters I don't see the Republic falling because Sidious wouldn't confront them. He'd take a sizable portion of the grand army with him. But The Jedi would explain the situation. Hold a new election for Sidious' old role. And the Republic would be ready for Sidious to return. But honestly if he failed I don't think he'd try again. I think he'd become more patient and create a new plan for future Sith. If Anakin didn't fall. Mace doesn't die. Sidious has no shadows left to hide behind.

TBH truefully. he would be better off just force pushing annakin and mace, then hoping out the window... giggling away, while finding some other way to puppeteer everyone from behind the scenes, he could always order 66 at a later date in coinsidence with his new plan. the clones were so damned effective that the republic would of kept using them anyway. yoda and annakin were getting older... the kinds of stuff sideious was into, he wasn't... all he would have to do is bide his time... maybe go after luke and leia later... or maybe their decendants. that guy was pretty BEAST form a starwars, force user stand point.

Anakin turning dark was the only thing i really despised in the whole Star wars franchise, such damn awesome character, a good guy by nature who fell in love with a girl turns evil on false promises, suffers horrific burns, becomes a cripple and is later killed by his own son...there was so much potential, the hope of all that is good, but no, they had to make him bad...i mean come on...:(:(:( It really screwed up my interest in the movies, even the upcoming episode 8

Mickey Holmgaard Ahsoka was mostly the reason why i loved the series, she was the one mostly keeping Anakin on the good side, as a padawan they had a special connection, more so than any other, however after the Clone wars ended, Ahsoka left the Jedi order, which really broke Anakin and so he became the Darth vader, they meet again in Rebels, but ofc all character are much older there.

In all honesty. That would have probably in the longer run have been a better success than what Star Wars currently is. Because in Episode 4 to 7 so far, it has only been the "evil" who has been the conquers. And then you have less than 1 percent who are the good guys who is resisting and building up before it falls again to nothing(episode 7 starkiller killing the republic again). I honestly think that it would have made a good story how everything was good. Then the tide turned to where evil was for the most in control, but the amount of "good" guys were still huge. Like it would have been better if for example Anakin died as a good guy in the battle against evil or was betrayed or something like that during a war against the empire and Luke, Leia and Padme would be the ones suffering from this. Instead it is actually a very squished story(episode 3) where things turn way too fast and a lot of things just doesn't make quite sense. And then you literally only have 2 Jedi left waiting for 1 specific force user to grow up in order to face his evil father. I think that is a story which has more holes to it than the prequels to be honest. Even though the story in Episode 4 to 6 is amazing, then that must be one of the things which annoy me the most.

I fell in love with Padme and the relationship of her Aniken. I actually liked the prequel and liked the cheesy love story of them..and yes I am a straight guy...sigh.. Palpatine manipulating Aniken by implanting those dreams of Padme "dying" into his head (which is my belief) and maybe even orchestrating the love between Aniken and Padme's by suggesting Obi wan (inadvertendly Aniken) to be her bodyguard in the Clone Wars movie is disgusting and truly evil. He manipulated Padme and Aniken's beautiful love story and then destroyed it. Just imagine how much suffering Aniken went through.And to think how little their perfect love story lasted...all because of Palpatine. I hate Palpatine, although from the dark side point of view, he was a God. And to think that if Anakin didn't turn to the dark side, Padme most likely would have survived (bc she wouldn't have died from heart break or be killed by Palpatine)...it's heart breaking... Fuck Palpatine...

I don't believe Palpatine would have advocated for the creation of more Sith. Palpatine was a stalwart and dedicated believer in the Rule of Two. The Inquisitors of course being an exception to the rule since they're not really considered Sith.

I've often postulated an alternate reality, that I somewhat wish the Film Makers had gone with. What if Anakin DID become Darth Vader...but didn't turn (or wasn't intending to turn) to the Dark Side? This alternate universe features Anakin learning of Palpetine's plan, much like how you said. BUT realizing that they face the overwhelming odds, the Jedi take on a different strategy to a more clandestine approach to taking him down. So...realizing that Palpetine must be looking for a new apprentice, Anakin decides to fake his own death, and take on an alternate persona, to get close to Palpetine. This would essentially mean that Anakin would be playing the cover of Darth Vader for about twenty years. Maybe after that time, he would succumb to the power of the Dark Side, or worse, his spirit was broken realizing that Palpetine was too powerful for him to defeat.

I think you mean would've not when. Lucas stated in the EU Yoda is the third strongest, sidious is the second, and Luke is the first. Canonwise you could argue if Vader was twice as strong as sidious he would've overthrown his master. You could argue Vader and Anakin are two different people (kind of) but then I'd remind you that in the EU and canon Vader is stronger than Anakin anyway so that still holds up.

The only thing I would change in this, would be for Anakin to have been made a Jedi Master when he was appointed to the Jedi Council. I think that was one of the main things that pushed him to the dark side as it reinforced his belief that Obi Wan and the other masters did not see his skill nor value his contributions. I think that, if they had done that, it would have gone far in keeping him from turning and would have probably been the thing that got him to side with Mace instead of Palpatine when the time came. but that's just my thoughts on it.

It's important to mention that the empire may not have ever been established as palpatine used the "assassination attempt" of the Jedi to sway the senate into believing the republic needed a firm hand to restore order. It's possible that his entire plan could have fallen apart if anakin testified to the fact that palpatine was a Sith Lord.
