Wow...Deuce Knight and Walker White battling for Auburn's starting QB position in '25...I could get behind that..

I love Gus Malzahn, but his better recruiting classes were like Pot Luck Suppers. You could end up with 3 dishes of Mac-n-cheese. What this staff is doing is what Auburn has been capable of all along. We just needed the right staff to work on recruiting. I was beginning to wonder if I would see this in my lifetime.

I think with 2 years of work under Kent Austin, on top of helmet communications and an rpo offense, junior WR’s being Coleman, Thompson, Simmons, and Cain. Possible senior WR’s and RB’s. He could be dangerous and not even have to be great. Just better than average and not turn the ball over…. Insane to think about.

Charlie5, you said the same exact thing for JuJu regarding the people saying "I don't see it" and look how that turned out. You can't blame Auburn fans for not being the most optimistic about certain targets because way more times than not, we either haven't been in for them or we have and they choose someone else. I think that is definitely changing under Freeze though and people can start to be more optimistic.

I’m going to say the unpopular opinion and that’s that he is very similar to Robby Ashford and we all remember how that worked out. He will bring in other high level recruits though. I know what Freeze is thinking and that’s if he doesn’t work out at quarterback what a hell of a receiver he would be. Here comes all the sunshine pumpers comments.
@johncrane15942 ай бұрын
His new QB coach is helping him tremendously. He also beat out some pretty good QBs at elite 11. Robbie Ashford had no line, no (elite) receivers, and Philip Montgomery as a coordinator. Deuce will have years to study, great receivers and will be backed by an elite defense. Even Ashford may have succeeded with those circumstances, and Knight is much further along. He has work to do though 👍

Ashford was a product of coaching meaning lack of. He signed with Oregon out of HS only for his coach to take the MIA job, comes to AU only to be put in a bad situation, and he's had to learn 3 different offenses with over 4 coordinaters. That's hard for any QB to develop properly

It isn’t really about whether he is better than those 2 guys or not. It’s more about continuing to land high level talent in the QB room. You have to have depth and competition at that position or you can’t compete in today’s football. IMO he does fit Auburns scheme from the past, where he is a true dual threat player. Deuce and Walker can compete for years to see who the guy is after Payton/Hank
