Good Idea.... in theory. Terrible, in practice. Unless you find some sort of loophole, I don't see how you can balance this. Gohan would just get pissed, get a power boost, get pissed at being too weak, and this repeats until he's stronger than the enemy. please take no offense, I'm just saying that it would kind of be hard to balance, unless you nerfed his rage boosts (like maybe a third of his normal ones)

What I love about these kinds of What If stories is that Goku gets to know one of his parents, if not both of them, and they touch upon the original Dragon Ball, which surprisingly a lot of DB fans still haven't watched/read... So his starting PL. would be around 7,500 since he didn’t fight Dodoria in this timeline. By now Bardock power level probably around 23,000 or a bit more. You can only get so strong by yourself especially if no one is near your level. It’s like a mmo, someone is a level 40 just fighting level 1-10 monsters. Getting very little exp each time.
