Bart's genuinely a pain in the ass to be around but consistently in the years authors showed him to be deep down one of the most caring, supportive and creative characters in the whole show. He might get to the point after lots of missteps, but he gets there (contrary to Lisa). I also never liked the fact that in future episodes they show Lisa being successful and Bart a disgrace, when in the real world Bart has an adventurous and entrepreneurial spirit Lisa severely lacks of. Bart would be more likely to open a business and make something more. Lisa after getting whatever degree with maximum scores will be stuck in a subordinate 9-5 job.
@thegreenmanofnorwich4 ай бұрын
It's a bit difficult as after a while they just made Bart a monster for much of the time. Earlier on, he was thoughtless, unkind, and prone to acting out, but wasn't actually bad, and really did care. In the end though, it's quite hard to watch even fictional parents berate a ten year old

I'll admit Bart Maybe a Mischievous, Bratty kid but if it weren't for him things like Krusty Would've still be in Jail and Sideshow Bob Would've gotten away with it. What's Sad about Homer and Bart's Relationship Is that Bart once Wished that Their Neighbor Ned Flanders was his Father. That's just sad.
@kitkatkruncher223 ай бұрын
Be honest though, krusty should be in prison for all the shady stuff he gets away with. Bob being the star, he actually cares about the children and wants to give them proper Simulation to be critical thinkers rather than mindless audience. Not saying what he did was right with the means justifying the ends. But krusty should not be a role model

@kitkatkruncher223 ай бұрын
@potsdam28 to be fair, he was already an attempted killer, and only wanted to kill Selma for the insurance money. Had Bart not exposed Bob then he would not have had reason to pursue any vendetta or murder plot. There was even a point where Bob actually was reformed and only went to jail with his brother because the police couldn't bother to actually do any police/detective work. Also Bob, did not even want to be Kristy's assistant. He was only on set to show support for his mentioned brother and got the part by accident.

In Bart’s defense I’d love to have him as a brother or crush, I totally understand his sarcasm so we’d get along well and I like what he did for the kids making reading fun because honestly for some kids reading can be boring. And I bet even though it’s not mentioned Homer put sausage in the ice cubes and said Bart did it. Bart is the scapegoat in the family. He deserves better. Besides they don’t even help him with his homework. It’s no wonder he’s failing school.

Yeah, Considering the Fact that Homer Strangles Bart On a Regular Basis (Even though Sometimes Bart asked for it) While Marge Did Nothing To help Bart. I disagree with this episode there are several episode of where Bart played a crucial role in the simpson’s universe. On early episodes there are plot points and content lore where things could have been worse without Bart. For example Krusty would have still be in jail and Burns would have died leading to the shut down of the nuclear power plant want a lot of job loss would have happened

Much as I like the episode it does however gave me some It's a Wishful Life vibes from the Fairly Oddparents especially how that Homer and Marge see themselves as bad parents it couldn't be far from the truth like Homer is more physically abusive while Marge that still love Bart treats him like if he's not gonna make it far in life especially when Bart actually got a opportunity Lisa sabotage it for the sake of her own pride or in the shows case in the status quo like that Esports gaming event in South Korea

The book thing… this is so tangentially related it’s not even funny. Yet… I’m a psychologist in a small rural district in the Pacific Northwest. I work in a junior high school that has struggled with everything as long as I’ve been in the district. Another psychologist touched a teacher inappropriately a few years back, and so in the aftermath, I end up working there. That sucked but my best friend ended up working there too! Last year, we started the year with two admin, a principal and an assistant principal. By January, we have neither. Place is a mess. During passing time, I’m in the halls and see a whole class just standing outside the classroom door. My friend is on planning time and I get to come and go as I please, so we go and unlock the classroom door and let the class in. The teacher for that class is just AWOL. And the kids seemed used to it, and just file in and get to work on some assignment… I was honestly proud of them for that. But as I’m going around the class, providing supervision with my friend, it being vaguely inappropriate to just leave a group of junior high schoolers alone for too long, I realize that the history books they were using, were in rouuuugh shape. I ask a girl what is up with her ragged scribbled up book. “Oh. They’re all like that.” She wasn’t exaggerating. Literally every single history book was covered in poorly drawn penises, swastikas, booba, racial epithets, and sexually obscenities. Every. Single. Book. These history books were only four years old!! And half didn’t even have covers anymore! They were all completely vandalized and destroyed… I went it the subbing admin that was filling in, who happens to be a friend who I’ve worked with for her entire career and most of my own. I pointed out that classrooms typically needed teachers, and that history books typically don’t need so many penises drawn in them. She agreed on both counts.

Bart has many talents that could bring him to higher things if it wasn’t wasted on pranks but I think that could be blamed on the parents. I think the key is communication within the family cause his family is not really a healthy kind, Homer is lazy and drinks all the time it’s amazing how he didn’t get fired yet, Marge is okay but should interact with his son more about the trouble he is causing, Lisa is smart but sometimes she can have superiority complex, and has Big ego, and always thinks that she is right all the time. This family has many problems that could be solved via communication and or counseling. His behavior is not his fault it is the lack of communication and poor handling on the situation.
