I’m thinking that Bulma gets worried about trunks never returning so she sets sail for Namek, revives Gohan and sends him to the past to find out what’s going on. How does Bulma locate Namek you ask? Cell is born in the future timeline and absorbs the androids. King Kai tells Goku in other world and Goku helps Bulma locate New Namek. This would lead to Future Gohan vs Perfect Cell and we see future Gohan activate SSJ2

Y exe I thought about that. If you think about it, it’s been multiple years since Trunks arrived in the past. Either the androids destroyed everything, or she used Goku for help as King Kai tells Goku that the earth is still under attack so he helps Bulma locate new Namek. I think it’s a great idea as we get a nice little conversation between Goku and Future Gohan telling him that he’s the one that can defeat the androids. A touching moment that Salad should definitely look into using

Y exe I just don’t see any instance where Goku just allows the earth to stay under attack in the future without helping. Him and Gohan have been training in heaven and Gohan would be at least strong enough to defeat his androids by this time. Actually now that I think about it Cell would have absorbed them by now. Goku notices this and helps bulma locate Namek for Gohan to defeat Cell. This is also how Future Gohan activates SSJ2

Timeline 1: What if timeline Timeline 2: future Trunks timeline Timeline 3: the same future trunks timeline except trunks just left it to go to the past Future trunks in timeline 1 goes straight to timeline 3 instead of the few years that passed in timeline 2. If you wanted to have a really interesting development for the Buu Saga, Babadi could’ve controlled Trunks. Babadi could’ve taken control of his anger towards Beerus and had a fight between Trunks and Vegeta. The god ki from the fight makes Buu way stronger and a threat to the earth. I guess this is all just a reason to make the Buu saga happen, but it’s always possible.
