I love that we got some Ancient Giant lore in this chapter and confirmation that Oars' line are still actually giants. For the longest time, lots of fans thought they were just a different species of big scary humanoid, or they called them onis or something. I think it's very likely that Kaido has ancient giant blood as well, considering his horns are shaped the same, but then that raises the question of "Why didn't Big Mom just have Kaido's children if she wanted Giants in her family?" I think its been obvious always that Luffy is not "the chosen one" type of character and that Oda is in fact blatantly clearly baiting people to think that to then have a plot twist revealing it was Shanks. Luffy just makes it there and does it all with his free will. The Gum Gum fruit made its way to Shanks' hands because he is Joyboy and was fated to get his power back. But Luffy changed the course of events with his reckless behavior, like he always does.

I had assumed Gunko can apply her arrows to anything and her attacks on Loki are simply her applying her arrows on herself. Against the wolf, she lifted him up without touching him, pointing the arrow upwards around his neck. Against the giant guards, we didn't even see the arrows (maybe you can only see them using Observation Haki?) but Gunko didn't seem to move here either. The giant guard also didn't seem to be hit by punches or kicks... all we heard were cracking sounds... What if she used her arrows to break his bones? While I am upset that Gunko not being introduced as a Saint means that not all of the Gods Knights are made up of the remaining family names we didn’t know, I am happy that they’re here. The Gods Knights were on my bingo card because I couldn’t think of who could truly top the Gorosei as an antagonist after Egghead other than this group. All I’m wanting from this arc now is Shanks lore (and/or most of his background); some sort of lore explaining the Ancient kingdom and weapons; an explanation of how Vivi, Bonney, and Kuma’s story wrapping up. As I don’t see Lilith being able to make her lab there. I just have a feeling that she along with Kuma and Bonney are meant to be with the RevArmy before Kuma’s passing. As, I’m still on the boat that Vivi will eventually get Kuma’s fruit to finish Oda’s number scheme, along with her Vivre card number. Basically Elbaf needs to lead into Luffy finally meeting with his father. Meeting with Shanks in Elbaf, then meeting his actual father would allow Luffy to be able to compare the two father figures.

It's a little bit vague due to cross breeding, but I don't really see how Kaido could be the son of Harold when he looks his age. Giants age (physically) comparably slowly to humans. The best illustration of this is with Gerd and Big Mom, who were friends as children, but while big mom is clearly old, Gerd still looks to be in her 20s. The question of how aging works with cross breeding is still very much unanswered, but I do think it rules out Kaido being Harold's son. I also wondered this with Colon. If he is half human, does he only physically age twice as slowly as humans instead of 3 times?

​@@mokaljordan it definitely seems like Dragon is supposed to match up with the Holy Knights, but I've said since Garling was promoted I do want to see a Gorosei with 9 Holy Knights versus Luffy and his crew to get 1v1s again. So if it's on Elbaph I won't complain. I also see Jaruls sword as a gag, like the arrow in the head gag from old cartoons. Which is why I think Harold had the Nika fruit just before the WG "found it" 14 years ago, it's a possible toon gag from an awakened Nika user. Zunesha was in the North Blue with Bepo falling off 14 years ago, and Emeth didn't hear Luffy awaken on Wano close to Egghead so it's possible Zunesha didn't hear Harold awaken before being taken down by Loki. Which would also tell us how to injure the Gorosei, or tell Luffy about WiFi Haki he'll need later for Imu and Blackbeard. Lokis eyes bandaged means his fruit has some power through sight, and Hajrudin mentioned how strong a giant with a logia is on Dressrosa, so I'm excited for those bandages to come off and for Loki to show us his bag of tricks.

I definitely agree that partnering with the Netflix series is down to marketability reasons. Additionally, I think it's for stylisation reasons too; LEGO has had anime-esque minifigure heads in the past (most notably with Exo-Force), but they never really fit in with the general LEGO aesthetic. Putting Oda's character faces on a small, flat minifigure head surface probably wouldn't look right either. One hope I have for the collaboration is that they make include things that were absent from the first season, like Chou-Chou's pet shop, and Don Krieg with the Baratie set.

Im thinking that harold teamed up with the world government. The three things that makes me think so is 1: His sword might ve the one in jarls head and thus he might have framed loki and jarl might not be able to say the truth for "reasons" to protect everyone. 2: Shamrock and Gunko teleported to his castle which is a convenient place to come and go unknowingly. And 3: he is the one who wants to turn the strongest army, and the world governments biggest counter force, in the world into a nation of peace, meaning he is breeding his nation to be vaulnerable to an attack.

I think the fact, that Shanks is a Twin of Figarland Shamrock is a heavily great choice because in the future it will support the narrative that people aren't born evil just like the Tenyubituu aren't all that bad (just like Donquixote Mjosgard or Rosinante) while Shanks shows that people are sometime more tied to their surroundings than their heritage. Or maybe it was like a Sanji situation that he was put in that treasure chest because he was a "weaker"/more affective child than his brother.

King Harold wanted to start trading with the other nations, joining the World Government. With the World Government being bad, Loki was trying to stop this, as the Sun God he will liberate those oppressed. Garling was probably the WG agent sent to get Elbaf to join the WG, and as he is now an Elder he has sent Sham and Gunko to continue this work.

Wait, Shamrock being Bonney's bio father has so much potential for insane writing. I'm thinking an Eddie Guerrero vs Rey Misterio feud over Dominick Misterio. Shamrock is going to lose the Elbaf war, and he sees Bonney turn back from her Nika future to her child self and realizes, "wait, that brat is my daughter." And goes to kidnap her and take her back. Then Kuma who gets his memories back/or not, comes to save her. But he gets killed and Shamrock pulls a, "it's time to come home to papi, your real father!" And Luffy sees them get teleported away, which would lead to him having a legitimate reason to want to invade Mariejois. And Sabo has a connection to Bonney as well since they met in Castle Pangea, and she's obviously Kuma's daughter. Then the brothers could team up, meanwhile, Imu could want to see Bonney in her Nika future for some diabolical reason.

The fact that it's a living map is a double win for him. Still sick that he resorted to kdnapping & imprisonment, but I can see how he came to that conclusion.

Gonna throw this out there as far as Kaido potentially being related to king Harold: in Kings flashback, when Kaido saved him, he did consider himself to be Joyboy’s second coming at the time still. Much like how these giants seem to desire to be him as well. He did eventually renege on this, saying whoever defeats him will be, but it does line up some!

Something to tie into both the Jarul sword thing as well as Harold breeding humans (because it's a lot harder to imagine a male giant and female human than it was to imagine the other way around...)...Harold was almost certainly the previous user of the Nika fruit. In Jarul's case this could be an explanation as to how the sword got in his head without killing him, as it is definitely within reason that the cartoony powers of the Nika fruit could lodge a sword into someone's head without killing them. Furthermore, Oda himself has confirmed that Luffy can make his 'member' expand with his devil fruit, so I wonder if Harold could do the opposite...

One thing we forget about "lazy plot devices" is that usually works of fiction depend heavily on just one or two because they aren't all as long as One Piece is. That's why a plot device could feel lazy. Oda is writing OP for about 25 years, he's bound to use a few "lazy" plot deviceshere and thereand so far every so called "lazy" plot point didn"t feel that way to me because OP isn't just these plot point, it's the entire universe he's created and these small details feel really small compared to it.

I don't think it ever came up in Film Red, but I remember there being talk at the time from some Oda source (supposedly) that Shanks has the ability to cancel Future Sight in others. If that's the case, it would explain why someone else could have it and Shanks can still easily outmaneuver them.

I think if the Live Action LEGO sets do great, I can see further collaboration with Manga/Anime sets. It's just another case of OPLA being a gateway for people into the larger world of One Piece. In that respect, it's doing its job shockingly well
