It would be a smart move to continue the DeepMind line. I would gladly buy one for an OLED screen, perhaps a dual multimode filter, dual layered and split patch, and better oscillator section. Keep the deep modulation, general layout, mod matrix, envelopes, arp/seq, LFOs, FX. They really did arrive on the scene with one hell of a synth. Hopefully they continue it.

It's a great idea, but are the chaps from MIDAS still around to continue the work? They were the "mind" behind the DeepMind 12 and IMO should be involved in a successor.

@@synth4ever I think they're working on one of Behringer's poly synthesizers. The ub-xa? could be wrong. Behringer has quite a bit on their plate and the pandemic probably hit them harder than most due to their large size. And yeah, hopefully that team gets to work on a DM sequel someday.

I have this set up too but with the iPad editor. Whole lot cost £1300 (with an Air 4). Nothing but swishes & swirls of sweetness. Mod-Matrix & FX are exceptional. Quite heftily made too.

This synth has something very special. It is not the the best sound of the world, not the warmest, not the more precise, etc. But the more you play on it, the more you ear it, the more you love its unique sound... And good presets like yours are well serving this incredible machine !

Got me wanting a DM12 rackmount to go with my regular DM12 now but holy balls I'm gonna have to wait for these prices to go back down! If there was a Deepmind 24 I would like to see it as a Synth Workstation type instrument with a piano roll sequencer, a larger display and display port and maybe some FPGA for some retro analogue filters and VCO's, Im going to stop now before I really get carried away

Awesome! I'm a newbie. I see audio cords coming out of the outputs of the D but how is audio coming out of the DM12 keyboard? I dont see audio out cords on it. I didn't think audio can be transmitted only by midi. Please explain your connectivity. I want to do this setup! Again, awesome!!!

The Module is on a Stand which is raised just enough for the Cables to be plugged in and underneath the DM12D. What you are hearing is the DM12 Keys.

What about the main out on key unit? Ain't both outputs must be recorded as well to make 24 voices? I've heard mono out doesn't give 12 voices on one unit. Manual page 79 3. Audio Connections - The L/R line-level audio output of each DeepMind unit connects to the line-level inputs of an audio mixer. This allows you to control the audio mix of all your DeepMind units, adjust levels and EQ etc. The audio output of the mixer connects to an amplifier or powered monitors or speakers.

Yeah, I just recorded into 4 line ins, 2 for each then bounced down to stereo after doing about 20 layered sounds, but didn’t put them all in the video. It’s just an experiment to hear what 2 layered patches would sound like.

The L/R outputs are connected on both synths here, you see it clearly in the video. Both in a different mixer L/R. Midi out from keys to midi in from the module.... this way i layer all my synths in groups of 5 synths per submixer.

Hi! Sorry, i don't get it. Keyboard-DM12 is connected with Power and Midi-Out to DM12D. DM12D is connectet via Power, Midi-in and Audio Out. Why ist Keyboard-DM12 not connected with Audio-Out? I thought this is the trick, if you want to have two layers, that you play both DM12s at the same time, record both audio-outs and mix them together?! What is the Keyboard-DM12 doing?!

Midi Out of the Keyboard to Midi In of the DM12D - 2 Pairs of Stereo Outs into Audio Interface. Both Synths are being controlled from the Keys. Audio Outs are UNDER A STAND - which the DM12 raised on....No shenanigans with me mate...

This no deepmind 24 , the dekstop version is in fact partly the same as the keyboard. sure You can double the sound.
