In Jim Starlin's original Avengers-Endgame comic story,over 30 years ago,it was shown that a soul imprisoned in the Soul Gem could be freed by sufficient mystical power,like by Dr Strange & his allies.Natasha's soul could be restored to her repaired body & reunited with Bruce Banner,before Steve Rogers returned the gems to their proper places.

Maybe that would have been a better ending...All of these 'what if's' could have been achievable to be honest .
