In the OG series, Toriyama was simply not clever enough to come up with clever ways for conflict to occur, so he stuck to stupidly simple raw power trumps everything. It's great then that fan writers for DB have been able to pick up and do what he couldn't.

@@Deathnotefan97 Sort of. The spirit of martial arts is that good or clever technique can beat out raw power. It doesn't necessarily work out quite like that in real life, but we should expect it from a fictional series that touts itself as being centered around martial arts as much as DB does. The "techniques" in early DB boil down to magic ki ability to make the characters inhumanly stronger and a handful of gags like a man who smells really badly and Krillin beating him because he doesn't have a nose. That's not martial arts. Besides, once it did get more serious, it once again goes into who has more raw power. Tien has a bunch of really awesome techniques that should make him a tricky opponent, even for someone like Demon King Piccolo. But nope, he can't even beat a henchmen. Goku comes in with his superior power level and one-shots the henchman. Tien trains his ass off, but Goku got cheat codes to help him get ahead, like his zenkai boost, or drinking the black water, or training with GOD. None of that is particularly using cleverness to fight. It's more like having Goku stumble upon more and more power because he's clearly the protagonist, and raw power is really all that matters in these fights anyway, so he's clearly the strongest. All the friends he meets along the way get irrelevant mighty fast in the face of his overwhelming protagonism.

@@CountDVB Normally, I'd agree with letting Gohan live his life. He isn't a fighter like his father is. But there's a point to be made on the other side as well. He was happy to slack off in his training because his father ensured peace for many years, and there were other fighters around who could handle threats. But that's kinda the problem. He was enjoying the peace that others created with their own sacrifices, and he began to believe that he could just let everyone else protect Earth, believing that he didn't have to make any effort himself to maintain that peace. And that's a mindset that I don't like very much. Even in real life, every single individual has a responsibility to maintaining peace. Gohan has the power to do it. And knowing that Gohan can get so strong with so little training makes it even worse. He doesn't need to dedicate his life to training like Goku and Vegeta do. He can just take a pop in a gravity chamber for an hour a day, and he'd grow astronomically stronger than everyone else, more than strong enough to ensure the safety of his planet and his loved ones. But he chooses not to do that. Instead, Piccolo has to be the one who steps up when Goku and Vegeta aren't around, and Piccolo doesn't have the hybrid Saiyan cheat code. He has to put his life and body on the line in ways that Gohan never has to, because Gohan refuses to do the bare minimum to maintain his responsibility.

So, from the sound of it, Cooler has not only truly achieved his Sixth Form here, but the form itself is the perfect complimentary antithesis to the Third Form. While the Third resembles the Xenomorphs from the Aliens movies, the Sixth sounds to me like it more closely resembles the Yautja. And this is beautifully poetic. Alien form to prove the alien nature of the race, and at the new pinnacle of evolution, the Predator form to portray the intelligent and ever-growing nature that he's now reached. Cooler is most definitely living up to his name, being _cooler_ than his brother and father.

Fantastic story. Will Cooler learn Instant Transmission? In the Getter Star movie his metallic replicas could use the technique and even use it better than Goku, making combos with quick teleportations and even intercepting Goku in the middle of the Transmission. Not only it adding that technique in his arsenal would prove that he surpassed both Goku and Cell but it would be priceless tool for the ruler of a Galactic Empire, to travel to any part of it inmediately.

Man catching up to this series was a blast, I particularly liked how Cooler wasn't just relegated to standing on the side, but actively got involved with the major conflicts like fighting Cell and aiding Gohan in the beam struggle. Now here is an idea: When Goku tries to finish off Kid Buu, rather than him just getting his power restored by Porunga (maybe the third wish was used on something) I would love to see Cooler launch a hyper nova (his upgraded ultimate move) from the other side, sandwiching Buu between his and Goku's attacks. Would also be amusing in the aftermath to have Cooler playfully flick the exhausted Goku across the forehead and making him fall over, getting an amusing little bit of revenge.

And thus Cooler took some time to cool off, back to level headed and in charge of his fate. I like the idea of the cybernetics hampering his growth and basically allowing for him not to outpace everyone by going gold after a few months of training. I know it was also used with Frieza story but it makes good use of the story that was already there while finding new ways to grow or new ways for the characters to think. It is curious that he only had nightmares about majin buu and not Beerus, if it turns out he was left out of the loop on the Gods of Destruction or Angels... he might be in for a rude awakening of how much his empire can be protected from such an influence.

This was a fascinating mini-arc that set the stage for a lot of big stories in Revolution C as we made it to the Buu Saga. We got some original ideas, new characters, set up and interesting questions that will guide Cooler and his empire to both new heights and more than likely devastating lows that will befall them. I also liked how you made Dabura come off more interesting and an actual threat without actually showcasing him. Seriously he’s called The Demon King, how did the main canon not make him a significant force to be reckoned with? Like I’ve mentioned in the previous chapter, Commander Sorbet is calm for now but with the established threat of The Heaters now seeking the Big Gete Star, Majin Buu on his way back, and inevitably Beerus waking up after all that to cause a bit of mayhem with his job, Resurrection F is going to be very interesting to see. Cooler is reborn. And on his way to new form of evolution. Time to see what he has in store for universe 7.

This is going to be great for sure. If Gohan kept training and never stopped his growth will be insane. And without Goku there he would have likely trained with Pic more and found other sources to become stronger. So he might not even be counting on just his Sayian side in this. So who knows how strong Gohan and everyone else will be. If they took Cooler to heart and used all they could to get as strong as possible this will be interesting to say the least.
