little bit of a tough crowd. they missed a grand opportunity to give a resounding standing ovation. plus, when the audience didn't appreciate the Kardashian reference humor it gave me the vibe that they're all kind of uptight & too serious about the impetus of their attendance. (i was not there, the live atmosphere may not have been fully captured by the audio visual hardware used for the making of the video.) humanity needs more people similar to your character. history books would get updated & rewritten, due to the more that is learned about our ancient past, much quicker if more speakers delivered with the enthusiastic & fun manner as that in which you keep getting more & more proficient. i really think that you deserve big ups for your perspective on how to read the Piri Reis map! i find your theory to be based on the most plausible logic that i have yet heard! much 💗 ✌️🐝➕

I can totally relate. My Mother's Dad died in a fire the year I was born. My grandmother's mother had died when she was young too. I was at her stepmothers house in the country and she's called momma. My grand dad is around while she tell's me a story about my mother's dad that passed. That's another story. I was working with my dad about fifteen years later and telling all who worked with him this story. Later after mom had heard what I said she said I made it up. Not that I'm lying. I told her how could I know so many details about him if you didn't know, Momma told me all of it when you left me with Papa. She disagreed it happened. There's a moral to the story she had so that was over fifty years ago and I don't believe she had lied to me! RIP my family. He stowed away on a boat going to Alaska and he was going overboard if he didn't do anything so he cooked so well they wanted to give him gold as that was what they were after and he had money and didn't want any. That's pretty much it.

The first translations of Plato’s story into English do not use the word “Atlantis” at all, but instead “Atlantic Island.” And it was an island as large as Libya and Asia together and lay in the Atlantic Ocean opposite the Pillars of Hercules (Strait of Gibraltar). That can only mean one place, - South America. Plato’s description of the location is very clear, halfway along the longest coastline of the whole island was to be found a smooth and rectangular shaped plain, high above the level of the Ocean sea and enclosed by mountains. This plain exists and is called the Bolivian Altiplano. Furthermore the capital was a volcanic island surrounded by concentric rings of land and water and was said to be in the centre of this rectangular plain, 50 stades from the sea. It was this island which was destroyed by earthquakes and floods, and remains of it including remains of concentric rings of land can still be seen there today near a village called Pampa Aullagas. You can look up the level rectangular plain for yourself as it is now shown on most modern physical maps of South America or just Google Atlantis Bolivia.

Loving your animated presentation Jahanna! You gotta be more accurate on your detail though. Solon, who went to Egypt and visited the temple of Sais where he got all the info, was a *close friend* of Dropidas, who was the grandfather of Critias - who told Socrates (the real Randall Carlson, lol). Plato, being a much later *student* of Socrates (before he was put to death for maintaining his truth) got the conversation, probably relayed by Socrates himself. Detail is important if you want to maintain credibility. A continent in those days, also meant peninsula or promontory. You are right in that I suspect "bigger than Asia and Arabia" did include Northern Africa and Northern Mediterranean. Confusion is everywhere when considering the region of Atlantis, with the island of Atlantis and also the city of Atlantis. Three different contexts.

Atlantis is said to be an island kingdom. A main island, surrounded by island rings. If a deluge overflowed Atlantis, then the additional weight could have drug the island into the ocean, or washed the rings away, exposing what remained, until it finally sank. No one would have survived, except those who were returning home to find it gone.

Hey, Johanna. I'm Bruno, from Brazil. I was specially interested in the part in which the location of Atlantis is said to be right at the mouth of the Mediterranean, not too far from the Pillars of Hercules, and from where you could cross the Ocean to the opposite continent. Well, my father circumnavigated the globe twice on a Brazilian Navy Ship, leaving from Rio, around the southernmost point of South America, up until L.A, crossing the Pacific to Japan, visiting ports in Asia, across the Suez Canal, through the Mediterranean, up to Scandinavia and back down towards the mouth of the Mediterranean (Portugal) to cross back to Rio. Now, that's what's interesting. The ship would always stop in the Madeira Islands, near the Azores, off the coast of Africa, before coming back to Rio. My best guess is that Randall is right in saying the Azores are the possibleocation to Atlantis, since ships crossing the Atlantic towards South America still stop in their vicinity before the long crossing. Cheers and keep up the great work!

You are amazing Jahannah, you are a natural presenter. Had so much fun and you packed it up with so much information. One small correction I just want to make: the "clock" they didn't have invented at the time of Piri Reis map was the chronometer, which is the maritime clock which is able to work in the pitching and rolling seafaring ship. Also I have a question: at the Azors, how are they actually preventing you from lets say diving the surrounding oceans? Have people tried to drone the underwaters there from a boat?
@markd3250
@markd3250 8 ай бұрын
Yes but consider the Antikythera Mechanism which was dated to 2 B.C. The Turkish cartographer who put together the Piri Reis map said it was a compilation of ancient maps he had. Considering how important maps and being able to navigate across the ocean would be, it would seem the ancients had a much more advanced understanding (along with mechanisms) than we realize. Fascinating stuff.

@@markd3250 The Antikythera mechanism wasn't a clock at all, it was a kind of orrery - you set it to a particular date and time and it would calculate the positions of the Sun, Moon and planets for that date and time, but it couldn't keep time by itself. Having said that, if they had clockwork developed to such a high level and we have so little record of it, it doesn't seem unbelievable that they could have had chronometers too and there be no surviving record of it.
@markd3250
@markd3250 8 ай бұрын
@@wizwhat8186 Exactly. Anything like this would have been hand-made, so it would be a very special, rare and highly prized item. If it was for navigation, then most likely it would have been in the possession of the captain of a ship, and spent its life on a ship. The chances of something like that winding up on land somewhere would be very slim I would imagine. We have no idea how many exotic things were lost at sea over the millennia.

Brilliant, Jahannah, and very nicely done! The fact of your passion for this research really shines through and is quite infectious. I'm sure that since this Summit and your presentation, there's been a serious surge in people of all ages wanting to look into these questions for themselves, which is as it should be. Cheers!

@Maxim__g her video of the stargate heiroglyph, she edited anyxtee words, he has some anti high tech videos, so I called him out on mis reading the heiroglyphs, and I got his side of the story, he stated himself that she did that, I am not a ancient tech person, and I find lies and false facts all over in several channels about high tech

@@AncienttechArnieyou’re not and ancient tech guy but your name is “@AncienttechArnie” that seems like an odd thing to to have as your user name if you’re not into ancient technology, no? And I’m not defending her presentation I’m just trippin on that comment.
