I'm guessing it's because the moves are cartoony, and kids watch cartoons. Kid's minds are developing and growing, and they find themselves developing their sexualities. However, since they're kids, their mind might accidentally link together unrelated things. So they end up linking sexual stuff with cartoons. That's why cartoony stuff are sexualised. It's also the same reason furries exist, because cartoons have animals in them.

I've seen some recommendations for Toad around, but I think Captain Toad would be a bit more interesting. It's something to consider.

@@xasz41 that's the interesting part. He'd definitely need some good recovery moves. Perhaps the way he springs out of a minecart in the minecart sections would be useful? And a cannon that shoots high fo his up-b. Perhaps he could jump in the minecart, since it would be the minecart doing the jumping for him.

The reveal trailer would be the book from Cuphead opening and showing Cuphead and Mugman playing and chasing butterflies like the main storyline. The Cuphead and Mugman turn around to see different Cuphead bosses fighting against each other to grab the Smash invitation. Mugman tries to stop Cuphead from running in but Cuphead starts punching and kicking all the bosses out of the way. When the smoke clears, Cuphead jumps from the crowd and raises his hand high with the Smash invitation and starts posing in a classic cartooney like stance that changes from being a book to a Smash Ultimate 3D animation style.

You made a good choice choosing to do it before the Dlc, seeing as it got pushed back even further after a while. I'm a pretty big Cuphead fan myself and if Cuphead were added to Smash as more than a Mii costume, I'd definitely wanna play as him.
