Thought that the reason Plagues went to Naboo was because there was Sith artifacts on the planet. Since he can't go around underwater, he possessed Jar Jar so that he can move around without too much suspicion. The other Gungan noticed the dark side aura around him but that was good enough for Plagues' missions. So when Palpatine killed Plagues, Jar Jar already had a connection to Plagues and it was easier to essence transfer remotely as a part of him was already inside Jar Jar.

What if Plagueis found a way to become immortal, but not in the way he would like? Since the Force controls life, it may be possible to deceive it, become inanimate for it and stop dying, become a dead object, cut off from the influence of the Force. Darth Plagueis created a clone of himself and used Essence Transfer, but his power allowed him to keep both bodies alive. The clone's body was weaker in the Force and he did not want to kill his main body, not knowing what would follow. Darth Plagueis used the clone to travel, without fear of death along the way from his many enemies (the enemies of Hego Damask). Palpatine noticed in the novel that the teacher's wrinkles had smoothed out, but maybe that's because he's a clone? Sidious's betrayal overtook him in the body of a clone, so he was unable to resist. This happened by accident, the Force played a cruel joke with Sith, who wanted immortality. When Plagueis woke up after death in the main body, he realized with horror that he was cut off from the Force. He did not find any medichlorians in his blood, that even the blood he took for analysis did not want to decompose, as if life itself had turned away from him. Appreciating the irony of what had become of him, Plagueis was shocked by this even more than by the betrayal of Sidious. He hid himself and his new immortal and vulnerable body where no one would find him and severed all ties with those who knew him as Damask. It took time to get used to the new conditions. His body became immune to force attacks as the Force completely ignored him. Plagueis lost contact with the Force, but gained immortality, turning into an inanimate object. He refused public life. But he could still train new Sith, he hadn't lost his knowledge of the force.

What if Darth Plageuis kept his essence alive in the same sort of way that Emporer Vitiate did until Galen Marek was born, thus possessing the body of the future apprentice of Darth Vader? However, instead of his conscioisness dominating Galens, it merged with it. It would grant Galen all of the knowledge of the sith lord, but not his personality. How would that one play out?

He then attempted to dominate the wills of Satele Shan and her students but he ultimately failed. Should Plageuis have learned how to do this, the what if would work

I personally believe (if plagus existed before the book) - he then never existed in George lucas mind. He is just a subliminal name for half fallen Skywalker's future. Vadar means fatherly man, now that's beyond sarcasm for a guy who killed his wife through determination. Plague means plague, and vadar need a breathing tank.

Darth Plagueis should have been the villain of the Sequel trilogy along with Darth Talon as I think JJ was planning to make Snoke be Plagueis just like he did with Khan in Star Trek into Darkness as would been perfect as his existence was hinted at in the Opera scene in Revenge of the Sith like Marshall from the Hangover trilogy was mentioned in the first movie until he appeared in the third movie and Grindelwald appeared in the Deathly Hollows and he became the big bad of the prequel Harry Potter movies

Pretty sure it was Plagueis’ master Darth Tenebrous who was going to transfer his essence into Plagueis. When Tenebrous found himself in the final moments of his life thanks to Plageuis’ very quick betrayal he began the process only to peer into his apprentice’s mind as the force gave him a vision of the future. He was so disgusted at the fact that Plageuis would die to Sidious in the way he did and not long after he became the master that he decidedly stopped the process of essence transfer and chose to die. At least that’s how I believe it was if I remembered correctly

The thing I don't understand is Darth Vader knew Luke was his son. Why didn't Luke inherit everything Darth Vader owned. A last will and testament so to speak. Luke would've been rich, and perhaps become the CEO or president of several factories, companies, and shipyards such as Kuat.
