Considering this anomaly doesn't affect plants, SCP-2800 (Cactus man) probably roams into the cities every night, being ignored by instances of 100-A as he is a plant, and helping people reach SCP containment sites. I imagine a scenario where he walks through cities and finds safe routes to bring survivors through to take them to safety. Not that hard to believe considering his hero complex.

Whats most wild in my opinion about 999 is that the sun's light supposedly gets rid of anomalous properties (like healing factors and so on) if I remember correctly, meaning that 999 is the only anomaly (edit: organic anomaly as inorganic anomalies are immune i.e. the mask and 173 and so on) that is immune to the suns light. And it can even counteract the light in a way (the whole changing its opacity thing). I genuinely think it's a bit more complicated than "you cant melt what's already melted" but that's just my own head-cannon. It wouldn't surprise me in the least to find out that was the case though.

This is my argument, light exists regardless until it is blocked or transmuted, so at some point if a distant planet is in the view line of our lovely Sol then they will begin the gloop, or will they only partially gloop? If the alien race isn't a carbon based lifeform do they still get effected? All questions that need answers if we are going to survive "mole simulator: human edition"

There's a different narration of the first story of the compilation, it says that only rays in the visible spectrum cause the anomaly. Which means that SCP-001 affects in the space as a whole and there's a possibility of it affecting millions of years after the Sun itself dies if you're far enough.

Loved all the various SCPs adapting to life in the When Day Breaks Scenario. Now to nitpick. Though it's mentioned early in the compilation, most of these scenarios forget about one simple fact, and it shows even in the animation. The moon. It is specifically mentioned in the SCP Foundation's reports on When Day Breaks that the light reflected off the lunar surface is capable of affecting you just the same as broad daylight. There is no 12 hour grace period for the other side of the world, only in moonless nights are you safe. Even at night, survivors should be wearing as much protective clothing as possible so as to prevent any light whatsoever from reaching their body. Shade might also not be an adequate protection for this very reason as well, as light reflected off the surfaces of buildings and other objects will also then melt you. Only complete lack of natural light will save you. The file specifically mentions that it is visible light that is changed, though I'm unsure if the light is reduced to infrared levels makes a safe exposure rating. All in all, I enjoyed these stories, though most of them forgot about how the moon is also to be feared. Whenever you see people wandering about without heavy protective clothing and gear with the moon shining in the background, that's when the story truly should end. Nitpicking over, overall I did enjoy the video, despite the oversight on how the moon is not a safe sign.

Would a dyson sphere protect us from 001, and would 001 make the dyson sphere even more effective? (for those who don't know, a dyson sphere is a enormous structure surrrounding a star that absorbs it's energy for a billion-year long power source)

You firstly have to navigate around the structural problems of having a Dyson sphere. Also you have to worry about ANY impact damage. If you cut some corners and used a little magic to make a stable and unbreakable Dyson sphere, it would shield the earth from the sun. You now have to worry about plummeting temperature. Even if we made earth completely shielded from the sun, it would still be inhospitable because of freezing temperatures. Since the sun turns red, that signals less energy is being used. The Dyson sphere would become less effective.

no i wouldn't do that/ try it unless there was a star close to us that we didnt need but we'll have to go there, make the sphere but considering how most stars are light years away going back and forth would be a pain in the ass. the dyson sphere was made on (the theory implies that the dyson sphere would be made at that time) the second or third level of humanitys technology, thats means maybe there could be a way to do this because we wouldn't know what technology we would have in the future but we could only theorize and wait.

There are certain lenses and materials that filter out things live UV rays or Red light, blue light ect. In scp 001 when day breaks, is it possible that the Sun is just emitting a new anomalous spectrum of light, and if so would it be possible to create a lens capable of filtering out that spectrum of light and then possibly construct giant domes made from said lens in which to build cities inside of?

If you noclip through reality, by finding a way to the Backrooms - and if there even is a level in the open (or, at least, with windows to the outside) - are you still at risk from Day Break ? The Sun negates all SCP abilities and powers, yes - but, its only means to get to the Backrooms would be for its rays to reach its points of entrance ... which would then negate the powers of said points of entrance ... thus, the Sun would, theoretically, not be able to actually get inside the Backrooms ... unless there already was a Sun in the Backrooms, to begin with ...

I agree. Points of entrance maybe, but the interiors, no. The anomalous Sun could render the entrances inaccessible, but the inside could still be safe as the backrooms themselves seem to be extra dimensional in nature, just like the Infinite IKEA, unless there is the highly unlikely possibility the sun's rays can also pierce through any dimensional barriers. There are of course no windows or open spaces in the backrooms as it would imply there is an "outside" where one could look out onto. Even if you try to break down a wall, even thousands of them, all you'll see are just more identical rooms, no open fields, no sky, etc.

There is a sun on multiple levels and the sun can control sun's in other diemenchins but in levels where there is no sun you would be safe

Most likely? Both. In floors with open sky, yes, it was able to get into 106’s pocket dimension, but 106 pushed it out. Perhaps if some powerful entity created the Backrooms and is still in control, it would most likely be able to do the same as 106. In an “indoor” floor, it would be safe. Edit: also depends on which version in question. The one-floor version is safe. Unless the Red (001 entities) gets in. Then the outcome is debatable, as the Backrooms entities may or may not fight them off. The wiki version with many floors; the two sentences directly prior and the non-edited version both apply.
