I changed the Gold relic because of this run. It's both been nerfed, cards have (slightly) more variation, and there are mechanics to keep your old cards. Looking into other changes as well, but it definitely wasn't as fun as I intended!

Have you considered adding modifiers to the cards being played (like what the mod Chimera Cards does)instead of straight up replacing the played card. That way, the effect of the card could stay mostly the same, but you add/change the modifier on it everytime it is played, until it becomes completely golden. Or something along those lines

Also, because the upgrades do nothing... Needs a bit of work, few more cards, useful upgrades and then it can be an interesting relic.

Because there were like 2 or 3 cards where an upgrade made a real difference, some cards where it did literally nothing and some where it saved you 1 gold per cast, which is something, but if you had to choose between sleeping at a rest site to heal back 1 hp or upgrading such a card then it would be a tough choice to pick the better option...

@@Kholdaimon All of them had upgrades that did stuff, but they weren't displaying properly, but I have since changed most of them because they weren't very fun at all as well as made sure the upgrades do show properly. There's probably more to be done, I want to do something about the relics as well. Who knew losing all your relics and cards (and even potions) weren't the most enjoyable situation! (sarcasm) If you got any tips for what to do with the relics I'd love to hear it.

This relic is a perfect representation of the Midas Touch: You'll gain what you want (gold, power, winning the game) but you'll lose what really had meaning (any fun in the game for the rest of your run)

Even the part that you can’t even buy the things you wanted because they will just turn into gold, yet you still spend a shit ton of gold just to keep yourself in power, forced to feel the dread of your wealth leaving you. Even the attention to detail on the fact that the golden idol wasn’t turned because it was already gold. May not be a fun relic to play, but truly an artistic masterpiece

In my case, i guess i'm just cursed, but even myself isn't able to stop it, so i'll just keep going, in hope that , one day, i can say everyday that i am indeed, going well

Fundamentally a terribly designed relic. It takes whatever synergy you had going and throws it away in favor of the gold scaling stuff which will always be the same every time you take that relic. The dagger spray scaling run would’ve been way cooler

Hey Andrew, I’ve got a few questions I think you can answer: 1. Are there only two Replay the Spire videos? I can’t tell if there’s more or not. I’m asking because there used to be a really cool Act 1 event in that mod that was pretty rare. It may be that Frost never found it, because it would certainly be video worthy… If the run went well. 2. Has Frost ever done Daily Challenge runs, or one where he aims for a high score? They require a bit of a different play style, so I’d love to see one. 3. What exactly is Frost’s relationship with the LGBTQ+ community? I’ve seen it vaguely mentioned, but nothing solid has been said about it, so I’m just left a little unsure about it all. Thanks for reading this!
