Here's a what-if for ya: What if, after seeing Gohan's spike in power, Raditz decided to flee Earth and take Gohan with him? You know, instead of dying on some unknown mudball planet.

Xaviikinz Radditz didn't have time to leave the earth after Gohan power spike because goku and piccolo came just after that happened. They is what-ifs about Radditz taking Gohan. Think Quuman or geekdom101 done the theory and I also done one :)

+P2M Uh, yup, totally forgot. Still, with a bit of remanaging of the events (maybe Gohan flipping out at Roshi's house or en route to Raditz's pod instead?) it would make for an interesting what if story. Taking out a big player like Gohan early on, or even shifting the focus from Earth to space pirate adventures would bring about a way more radical change than some other what-ifs.

I don’t think they’d have come for him tbh. If the planet had never been destroyed, then there would still be plenty of saiyans around. They wouldn’t need Goku, especially since he was a third-class saiyan. But then again maybe i’m wrong, maybe they won’t come back for Goku, but for the Earth itself since he had never taken it over. Or maybe they’d probably just loose interest in Earth altogether. Honestly the possibilities are endless.

Interesting theory; but I feel that Present Gohan benefited massively from training with Goku as Super Saiyans. Future Gohan barely had training with Future Goku, let alone Super Saiyan training. I think MasakoX's theory of Future Gohan only unlocking SS Grade 2 is quite believable.

We have to take account that present Gohan trained for three years with Goku and Piccolo for the android attack and then a year in the Time Chamber with Goku. The Gohan of Future Trunks time line was very likely to be at the level he was in the Namek Saga when the androids appeared and killed everybody. That forced Future Gohan to train by himself without anybody to teach him and without a sparing partner until Trunks grew up, all this while having to hide from the androids.

See, this. This is why I love your what-ifs. You really have a good way of painting a scene so that I could totally see it as an animated scene in my head. The way 18 wound snap out and grab Trunks for that moment of added tension and details like that are what make it feel like a real episode. You are pretty good at staying true to the characters too, so it never comes off as super fanfic-y, and feels like, yeah this is how that would play out. I would LOVE to see this as an alternate timeline in something like Xenoverse or another animated special!

Goku split a senzu bean in the sayain saga after gohan and krillin were worn out from fighting Nappa. The outcome of this was them gaining about half or less of their power it was about enough to make them fly away from the battle between Vegeta and Nappa.

I guess because King Kai didn't know about what was going on with the androids and stuff, he didn't know in the main timeline either until Goku told him. And Goku might not have made it to King Kai in the future timeline, I'm not sure if you can keep your body if you die of a virus. And Goku isn't really one to contact his family for a chat. After the little goodbye at the end of the Cell arc he didn't talk to them at all until the Saiyaman arc where he was like 'Hey guys, imma come back for a day'. Given that he died before the androids showed up he wouldn't have known about any peril to Earth either. I don't think he spoke a single word to his wife during the entire time he was in the afterlife.

I love this theory (and all the others I've seen so far). And you're absolutely right. The fight in the chamber between Gohan and Trunks would have been really emotionally driven. Now excuse me while I expound in story form. (Warning: long.) Trunks drops down onto his knees and slams his fists on the ground. "Why? Why am I not getting any stronger!?" There's a moment when his frustration peaks, and tears start to gather in his eyes. Gohan squats beside him, expression grave but understanding. "You're so close, Trunks. You can't give up now." At this, Trunks lift his head suddenly and meets Gohan's eyes. Without even thinking, Trunks rushes Gohan, who flies back out of instinct. The two engage in another heated spar. "Shut up!" Trunks shouts. "You don't know that, so stop- saying it-!" Gohan isn't directly dodging Trunks' attack. If anything, he's either guarding against them or just absorbing blows. "You think I haven't been where you are?" Gohan asks. "You think I haven't been in a dire situation like-" "This is different!" Trunks snaps, snapping his right leg out for a sweeping kick. Gohan moves out of the way immediately, but Trunks gives chase. "Everyone's dead!" Trunks lurches forward for a punch, and Gohan has his arms crossed in front of his face. Even guarding, he can feel an eruption of power scatter through his body. It shakes him, but there's a sense of pride as he feels Trunks' power level increasing. "Not everyone," Gohan says. "Mr. Popo's still alive. You, me, your mom." Gohan's expression becomes grave. "But." He opens out his arms, shooting out a wave of energy and knocking Trunks back. "If we don't succeed, everyone will die. EVERYONE. There'll be no second chances, no hope. If we go out there now, we'll lose everything. What will you do if I die?" Gohan lifts his left hand and tightens it into a fist. "If you can't become a Super Saiyan, Bulma's blood will be on your hands!" It's cruel, he knows, but he needs to get Trunks to that breaking point. And seeing the look on the young boy's face, he succeeded. Trunks' eyes widen, and his expression goes slack. He looks at his hands. As he struggles to process such a heavy level of failure, he can imagine blood on his hands, on the ground in front of him. And everything goes wide. His heart beats harshly between his ears before it's deafened by the sound of his scream as he finally becomes Super Saiyan.

You missed the "After they have beaten Cell" part. Cell in first form without humans to absorb would be waaaayyyyyyyyy outclassed by SSJ grade 2 or grade 3 Trunks like what happened in the actual story. Buu saga might take longer, but careful planning on Babidi's part can make it happens. The dude has Dabura with him. I imagine they can use a bunch of demons and other minions as a disposable tool to train trunks to SSJ2 with real fighting experience. Maybe killing Bulma in front of him ? After he got SSJ2 they'd suck out his energy. I don't know where to continue after that, but seeing as how Buu is a threat on galactic level, I imagine Trunks would still get a lot of help from the Kais and the other world.

I've answered older comments. Also, yeah, humans have the same powers as a base saiyan, but doesn't have the same potential, like the zenkai boost and super saiyan. Let's be generous and say that only Goku and Vegeta's lineage can go super saiyan(which as far as I know, isn't the case), the saiyans still have the zenkai boost to help. Also, as far as I know, normal humans are MUCH weaker than normal saiyans, and the Z fighters are to other humans what Goku and Vegeta are to other saiyans.

I always loved this Gohan the most. Even though we got to know him in this timeline for such a short time, he's one of my favorite DBZ characters of all time. I really like your scenario, I would've loved to have seen that come to fruition. Its sort of the way I wanted to see Gohan and DBZ grow, not as a Goku story (though he's still my favorite character) but as a Gohan surpassing Goku and becoming like his father. Good job!

Im sure it was a filler episode, but they did. Kami sent them in but it was a vision of the past (i think) or a vision he fabricated that was used for their training, they all got wiped out by the fake saiyans and it spurred them on to work harder with the training on the look out. Venomatic Max He wouldn't exist. In fact, no problems from super would exist (for a while at least). Remember future Trunk's timeline is around the time of the peaceful world saga in DBZ, which makes it about 4 to 5 years after where super is now. Babidi would have left earth since there wasn't enough energy, possibly returning later on, only to be taken out by Trunk's and Gohan. Beerus probably wouldn't have woken up considering goku is dead. No super saiyan god, no prophecy, no reason to wake up early. Sorbet would have came to earth, seen that there were no longer any dragon balls, and left. Leaving freeza in hell. Champa would collect the super dragon balls, but would wait until beerus woke up hundreds of years later to rub it in his face. Goku black was actually the zamasu from our time line. No time travel, no alternate timeline where goku pisses zamasu off, meaning zamasu is still making tea in universe 10. Also, without goku black, there's no second zeno. I'm guessing zeno either changed his mind about erasing the universes, or that universe 7's mortal level went way up somehow, because it's still around. So no tournament of power. Basically, the world/universe would have been way better if Gohan had just remembered the chamber of spirit and time.

They revive Piccolo after the androids die, but Sorbert would have arrived 4 years after the end of Z, where as Trunks and Gohan kill the androids around 10 years after Z. He could come back, obviously, but it doesn't play out like it does in super.

Zamasu alone was already strong enough that only Toppo, Jiren, Dyspo and the Kais stood a chance, and even then they would probably fall eventually. I'd think that Zamasu would abandon the Supreme Kai route and become a God of Destruction to get rid of his mortal killing urges. Even if he didn't, if Zamasu targeted Earth for the Z-M Plan he'd wipe out everyone.

A bit of an alternate to this What if: 18 sees what has happened to 17 and for the first time since being activated, 18 feels...something. In this moment of hesitation, Trunks knocks 18 away but before he can do anything more, he sees 18 crying. Before Gohan and Trunks can do anything more, 18 flies off in both anger and tears. Trunks tries to stop her but Gohan puts a hand on Trunk's shoulder. He's not sure what's going to happen, but something in him is willing to wait and see. Very cheesy and probably unrealistic, but meh.

Gohan would have been the one to go back in time just to save his father, and that would have impacted present timeline Gohan to become stronger or marginally stay at maximum. Since Bulma probably had the entire plan available and ready to be put into action why waste it? Also, we have to have Gohan and Trunks train with the z sword and release Old Kai and have him release their hidden power to maximum. Then Shin or old Kai could give them Potara against Black when he shows up and they could kick his ass.

Would they even need the Patara ear rings at that point? Gohan at his strongest with his potential unleashed was way stronger then Goku, so with a Gohan that has continued to train for years instead of studying he would only be stronger then he once was especially with Trunks who would be given the same power up ( Though I would say with less effectiveness, he didn't seem to have much potential compared to Gohan though having all of your power in base form is very useful ). By the time Black shows up I wouldn't be surprised if Gohan easily defeated and killed him by himself, after all seeing some one puppeting his fathers body and talking about how he killed his mother and brother as well in it would send Gohan into a rage that would push him into destroying Black completely.
