WHAT IF Garnet vs Gotenks (Steven Universe vs Dragon Ball) Sprite Animation

hope ya'll like this! It's a bit of an older animation I did in 2020, but I think it's good enough to be entertaining. Definitely not an example of what I'm capable of today though. Anyway, I hope ya'll like it!

Ya know, it's funny how in research based battles like Death Battle we mostly get less dialogue, no story building and battles that just feel like two guys throwing bricks at each, while in battles like this, the animators take time to actually give the characters personality

THANK YOU! Finally someone says it. It’s so frustrating seeing characters reduced to memes and basic characteristics. While I’m not as familiar with garnets character (watched the episodes involving their fusion though) she seemed on point. Gotenks was also really well done and the fact that he didn’t resort to having him do gags every five seconds shows a better understanding than a lot of sprite animations I’ve seen.

A lot of those fights overuse certain fandom jokes or don’t take into consideration the character’s personality’s “except when it justifies a loss.” Batman vs black panther is a good example or Batman vs iron man (lord they hate Batman) the characters should come first and references second.

I find it funny that Garnet would not have gotten her ass kicked and Goten would not have caused so much destruction in the fight, like she predicted, if she HADN'T started the fight in the first place XD i never watched Steven Universe, but it almost feels like Garnet created the future she didn't want to happen

The animation was really incredible and I liked Garnet's sprites, they looked perfect for her. The battle was promising and I was always waiting for it at some point I knew it would be released, now I really enjoyed how it developed and by the way it was funny watching Steven look at how he didn't understand the fusion of Goten and Trunks

As strong as Garnet is, Gotenks had the advantage here capable of fighting on the ground and in the air, hitting her up close and shooting from far away. Garnet only had 3 of those things, and could not approach Gotenks in the air to deliver a hit from those gauntlets.

Love the animation but lets be honest, gotenks would solo garnet in base. Goten and trunks have been compared to super perfect cell, a guy who coild blow up a solar system. Gotenks is tens of tens times stronger than that and has fought 2 versions of buu and survived(fat buu in base, super buu[an even stronger buu] in ssj after training), the terrors of the universe. Bro only one finger to beat her, no gogeta. Plus theirs the fact that hes way way way way faster than light and gems cant move faster than light and you got the recipe for a stomp. Although, i do like the story building
