I think my favorite part of this series is what you're doing with Meowth. Having Meowth grow beyond being an annoying and spiteful incompetent to a developing fighter with slowly dividing loyalties? That is just pure gold as potential character development as one day he'll undoubtedly be forced into a conflict of interests. It'd be truly interesting to see which direction he'll lean towards and why.

So cool to see meowth actually getting battle experience in this timeline Love how charmelon is mirroring what Ash's krokorok did in canon. Pleasantly surprised by the oddish capture. You two have done excellent so far and I'm looking forward to more.

Ash's party dynamic is interesting in this run, the oddish that wants to be a bellossom gives him a different grass line but compared to how his bulbasaur is in canon would give him access to a fully evolved grass type. Charmeleon being an absent presence from the start is intriguing and his Krokorok being the charmeleon's rival is a nice dynamic. Also I am very impressed with the characteristics of Silver, the man is literally Giovanni's son. He's a brutally efficient tactical mind, clear paternal hang ups and a desperate desire to best his father which could be out of misplaced wishes to earn his approval. Silver was an interesting character from gen 2 and the reveal much later that he was Giovanni's kid really put his methodology and thinking into context. It was also the first time and also the last time we got a rival who was actually antagonistic (the gen 1 rival was mostly obnoxious wheras silver was genuinely villainous). So I love the development of this, Ash's team reflects a more tactical drive and he's still learning whilst his companion pokemon Meowth is serving as the bridge to help him and his team better connect and empathise. Ironically being sponsored by Giovanni isn't setting him up for a villainous turn, at least not one I can see so far. But there is more to see and I REALLY wanna see, good show all around.

@@josephandrews8727 Well in regards to what I am not keen on would mostly reflect to taste, but so far Giovanni's influence is showing well in Ash's party choices and tactics. I think giving him Meowth was an stroke of genius for all the potential it opens up and applying the post gen 1 game abilities also brings it more up to date with the other pokemon from other regions. So far this is mostly up my alley, but as the story is not finished yet there may well be stuff that irks me later but so far so good.

@Nick linaras yeah, though it is clear ash has some sense of surrogate father feelings for Giovanni as they have much more of a relationship, so the effect of this reality crash will be interesting. More of an effect on his psyche, confidence and spirit.

This Ash has a very different team from the original at this time period. The only thing in common is Charmelion which ironically at the moment is taking the role that Unova Ash Crockerock did before Ash caught it. Considering Charizard was back in Unova for a bit it’s actually kind of a role reversal. Ash and Misty taking AJ down was satisfying considering his attitude. I don’t think this is the last though of AJ here unlike the original. Swapping Gary and Silver around was a twist I didn’t see coming but considering Ash caught up to Gary in the last part it’s possible the timing is different here. Giovanni and Silver here are actually causing this Ash to be a hybrid between Hoenn and Sinnoh Ash. Silver was basically a more aggressive version of Paul who was probably based off of Silver. It’s an interesting idea giving Brock and Misty Squirtle and Bulbasaur here rather then Ash. Reminds me how Hoenn Ash May and Brock had each had one of the starters each same with Kalos Ash Clemont and Serena did as well. It gives more verity and allows slots on Ash’s team not to be dominated by the starters . Which was always the better option. Misty here has a much more active role then cannon Misty and her wanting to be a water Pokémon master would have a challenge against this gym. Maybe finding a way to get Corsella early would help considering it’s a water rock type. She’s going to have to rain Gardouse (sorry for butchering the name) though. Oddish is seemingly like Bulbasaur not wanting to evolve but for different reasons. Reasons she will have to overcome in order to become a bellasom later on. Brock having a Golem here is surprising but only cause he had a Geodude originally. Considering the stronger Pokémon gym leaders have for trainers with more badges could explain that quickly. I am curious what he will do though now the trio separated for now. It’s clear what Ash and Misty will do but Brock is a wild card here.

You really can tell this Ash is different then his canon self for sure. I like the idea of a Ash and Misty rivalry. Oh wow Misty got her Gyarados already nice, but definitely got some work to do with it for sure. Huh? 🤔 So the end goal for Oddish is Bellossom interesting. Oh wow Charmander evolved into Charmeleon nice, but still wanted see if Ash is worthy of him or not is an interesting idea. I was disappointed that Ash didn't get a Squirtle though. 😕 So I'm curious the replaced on Squirtle now since Oddish replaced Bulbasaur here. Wait? 🤔 Now that I'm thinking about it Lt. Surge worked for Team Rocket in the Manga so you guys including that nice. 👍 Finally really good first battle between Ash and Silver. Anyways another really good part, and will check out the next part.

I have a question regarding Silver's Totodile? Where did Silver acquired that Totodile? Where? Did Silver go to the Johto Region, somehow, got to New Bart Town and steal Totodile from Professor Elm, like his game counterpart, or did he acquire Totodile from Professor Elm without stealing it. Since the 3rd Season of What If Giovanni Sponsored Ash is going to be the HGSS saga, I would like to see an origin story of how Silver got his starter pokemon, Totodile, from Professor Elm of whether or not he stole it or give it to him as a starting trainer.

I'll finish this series to where it is for now assuming I can and then go to the other channels and continue in that order as trying to dig up the past and my past beliefs is getting complicated. I'll only do this... This one time! Rival Misty. Oh wow... That's funny... The broken Sandshrew... Oh my... One thing I really like that this series captures is the way they go about traveling... Knowing their actions and what they do when in these cities is quite interesting and makes me think back to the games and what you might do in some of these situations... Oddy. Oh my, I had the funny Idea of hoping for one Evo then having that hope destroyed then having it reignited in a few seconds. Crazy... Poison types... WOW!!! This battle sounds like the coolest thing ever... The ways abilities are used are crazy... PFFT! That was funny. OH.. The bike... SILVER! Huh? Oh another cool battle. Wow... Doesn't explain... Leaves... BOOST! What the? I guess that's interesting and possibly true in some situations. I like these hints that's quite cool. What a cool battle. Oh yeah this system! What it hopes to become might be one who can restore. What a good part.

Funny thing, I think the original plan for the Kanto Starters in the first season was for Ash to get Squirtle, Misty to get Bulbasaur, and Brock to get Charmander, due to Misty and Brock having more focus than Ash in Bulbasaur and Charmander's episodes respectively. But then they decided that because Ash is the protagonist, he should get all 3.
