What If Gohan or Goten Became THE MAIN CHARACTERS?

You would think Chi Chi would've mellowed out since the Buu Saga, since she was training Goten in a flashback, and specifically about fighting. I mean, c'mon. She herself was a fighter and she lives with a literal alien whose race revolves around the thrill for battle. You'd think they would both start to compromise with their differences, but nope. But I guess not. Also, I really think Gohan could've made the choice to train by himself. But he chose to be a scholar. He didn't really like fighting, and plus as beneficial as Piccolo's training was, it only made his reluctance to fight more stronger. I mean that year before the Saiyans arrived was some TRAUMATIC shit, especially for a five year old. Good video, tho.

Imagine a what if situation, where Goku couldn’t exchange his life with Elder Kai’s to come back to earth to fuse with Vegeta, and instead Gohan having to fuse with Vegeta. And perhaps Goku wouldn’t return back to life, and Gohan would take up fighting since he would see himself as Earth’s defender

I think a good motivation for Goten to finally train again and potentially become the next protagonist cause I still have hope he will, is have his motivation be to get stronger not as a desire to just be strong for the sake of being strong, but constantly train to get stronger so he can protect and save his friends, family, universe, and others from different universes from being destroyed or erased by universal enemies and threats because Goku, Vegeta, and Gohan aren’t always gonna be there to protect everyone. Also Goten can still be the main character without being a copy of Goku, like his personality when he finally grows up can be somewhat like a combination of Spider-Man’s and James Bond’s personalities mixed together while also being a lot more focused and disciplined with fighting and training.

This video deserves a lot more credit and attention than is due. Anyways, I really wish Toriyama had went with Gohan being the main character like he intended. I still much prefer Gohan to Goku in so many ways, but the fans just had to shoot that dream down. I hope some day Toriyama or some one who owns rights to Dragon Ball goes back and redoes the series from right after the Cell saga, making Gohan the main character of the series. I really liked how the Buu saga started, with it focusing on what Gohan was doing, like he was actually the main character. Alas that's not how it turned out.

Obviously the characters would have changed if they became the main characters. Goku would have stayed dead and then Gohan would have stepped up to be the new protector so he would have trained harder and worried about the books less. Even in the show when chichi thought good was gone she started training goten to become the next protector of earth showing she knew they needed a fighter and she would have worried less about their studdies

4:06 honestly gohan kinda choose himself not to be a fighter and be a scholar since he was 14 and he never had any interesting in fighting or doesn't like fighting so it's Gohan's decision too i am pretty sure if gohan wanted to be a fighter he could have achive it but i get what u are trying to mean

Gohan has no chance of being the main character of a dragon ball, he has devoted himself too much to school education and studies at the request of his mother. Goten, on the other hand, has a greater chance of being the main character ....
