I like to imagine that the reason why people like Cell, King Cold, Freeza, etc. kept their bodies whilst in HFIL was to help keep a very close eye on them and enhance punishments for them (much like how Freeza was trapped in the fairy cocoon thing in DBS). That and due to how evil and powerful some of the people are, I imagine they can pull a Candy Vegito and cause issues anyways

This makes the flashback in the Broly movie so tragic. Gine shouting "Don't forget us Kakarot!" as he's whisked away in the Saiyan pod? That bump on the head did just that. He forgot them. Completely. And he never remembered them. It wasn't even close to relevant to the story. It's kind of a sick joke, really. I'm looking forward to this Holiday Miracle story. Bardock is another member in the franchise who just doesn't see enough love. And ever since the original special about him in the '90s and his debut appearance in the games, Bardock (and his fighting style and techniques) has been one of my top five favorite characters in all of Dragonball. @@Gzilla313 Maybe the time traveling shenanigans was because he had really good behavior in HFIL, so the Kais decided to bend causality and let him have another chance at life, but in the past? Thus making absolutely sure that the Super Saiyan Legend would exist? Could be the Supreme Kai of Time knew that some kind of time loop was happening, searched for who would be making the loop, and eventually put two and two together.

If Goku met Bardock, Goku would acknowledge Bardock as his father but wouldn't revere him just for being such; instead, he would inquire about Bardock's character and treat him accordingly. If he were to determine that Bardock were a good person, he'd try to build a traditional father-son relationship with him; if he were to determine that he were a bad person, he would try to push Bardock to become a good person and build a relationship with Bardock via this effort. If the latter were the case _and_ Bardock refused to become good, Goku would put Bardock down if Bardock were hurting innocent people.

Goku may be a combat savant, but that doesn’t mean he’s entirely unobservant. Plus Bardock not only being a Saiyan, but also having an extra high battle power (probably up to a million since Pikkon had such a wide gap it took Super Kaioken to match him) peaked his interest. Having a similar face didn’t hurt either.
