That's why I love Vegeta, he has this way of seeing the potential in someone and is the only one who can practically get away with breaking someone down and helping that person realise that Vegeta believes in them and in the case of Bardock in this story, he knows how to get it through Goku's father's thick skull that he was brought back to have a second chance at life and for redemption just like how Vegeta got brought back twice and went on that character development and redemption all thanks to Goku as I believe one of the reasons why Goku spared Vegeta after their first fight was not only to fight him again but to see him get redemption, I mean look at Tien and Piccolo, the two started off as bad guys but they ended up becoming heroes and his friends.

Well, knowing what I know about Bardock, this isn't going to be an instant-fix. If anything, it'll just motivate him to train harder...and angrier. He's just as competitive as Vegeta, if not more so. I feel like Piccolo and Bardock would make for fast friends since they’re both not talkative and Piccolo knows a thing or two of what it’s like transitioning from bad guy to good guy.
