I adore Fiona and Emmy Rossum way more than I care to admit. And her leaving the show is probably going to affect me way more than I care to admit. When given the choice between “Shameless without Fiona” or “No Shameless at all” I guess the answer will be the former simply because I love the show and all of the characters so much. But I’ll be honest and say it’s actually a tough call because I’m having the HARDEST time even trying to imagine the show without her. Fiona is pretty much the heart of the show to me.

It was the best thing for the rest of them family to have her gone. Monica dead frank being almost dead and Fiona with all her abusive behaviors gone let that family breathe enough that I see real futures for them all. Carl is on his way, Mickey and Ian married and dining the best out of any of them, Debbie with her daughter a career in welding, Lip braking the cycle of taking money from his siblings by saying no to Ian’s offer and trying to make things work for his family, and Liam will be safe with lip and cared for. Fiona just wouldn’t fit with any of this, the fact that she left with so little real hope of success because she refused to find her bottom and shame meant she would have poisoned that family forever like Frank and Monica did.

I know. Liam deserves better than what he is getting. All the other kids are grown, have jobs and can fend for themselves, but Liam is young and is still treated like dirt by Debbie even though he is only nine. Who tells their nine year old brother to sleep outside because he can't pay the bills? I get that Debbie and Carl had to chip in when they were his age, but it was a different situation. Debbie is a welder now, Lip is a motorcycle repairman, and Fiona had her Patty's job for a while. Even Carl is making some money with his fry cook job. You're right, when Fiona leaves, she should take Liam with her.

Its rare I agree with a main character leaving the show, but it really was time for Fiona to leave. Her character had no more growing she could do in the same environment. If the Nursing Home Investment had done well in, 5 years time she would have been walking away with maybe 4 X the amount of money, depending on the discount rate. Real Estate isn't a liquid asset, the large payoff comes from good management, tenants and waiting for that cash flow write off period. He's still being sly, by giving Fiona an immediate pay out of her investment. If she knew better she'd compound interest on that initial equity, but at the end of the day it gave her the means to reinvent herself.

He exposed himself to more risk by forking over another 100k to buy her out. He did try to trick her though by saying 90 instead of 100 because they can negotiate for what price to sell her part.

Yeah I think she kind of felt screwed over by Him when he bought her building for 292 and then later she found out he sold it for 475 but at the same time he got her out of debt and he didn’t ask for the additional $20,000 anymore and like he said your credit was still intact...But he’s an investor that’s how he makes his money so he’s just a businessman and she was someone that thought she could hang and she found out real fast that she couldn’t and when he saw her there you could tell he just felt so bad for her he’s like how about I just buy you out there you go so yeah he could’ve just said well good luck have a nice life!
